Yup, I went coated the corner of my trunk in blue painters tape today. I went and got some resin and fiberglass mat at the store and did a test spot in my hatch corner with aluminum foil as a mold. I wanted to see how quickly I would need to work it and how much material I need.

I'm searching for my camera, but I'll get pics for the whole process over the next couple of days, barring any rain.

I still don't know what subwoofer I'm going to get. I'm going for mostly SQ, so i am thinking on a good 10" and a good amp.

I'm just going to do the back part of the box for now untill I know what I really want. I can then take some volume measurements and finish a mount/brace for the sub and finish off the front a little later.

Who knows I could even make a mold out of plaster before I make the front.

Please do. I'm starting over and will be doing some fiberglassing this time. I would love to see your progress and how you do yours.

ok, I didn't get pictures of the process, bucause it was hard to keep anything clean. I coated the tape with car wax as a release agent. I then cut the fiberglass mat into workable squares. Then mixed the resin as best I could by the directions. During mixing different batches i thinned the resin with acetone some to work it a bit more. Being the first time I've ever worked with fiberglass, I expected a few bubbles and I know I used way too much resin.
Its going to take forever for the resin to fully set with the thinned out mix I last made.
I may try to use what I have as a mold and redo it outside the car.

Looks like you have a nice project goin on there. My only suggestion would be to re-size your pics so they are easier to look at,rather than have to scroll across the screen a mile :)
Hope it goes well for ya
