Basically recall on all 2006 Nissan Altimas (4cylinder) and Sentra SE-R (4cylinder)

Altima 2.5 I4 ($19600+)
Sentra SER 2.5 I4 ($18100+)

I guess they were mostly competition for high end Elantras, and Low end Sonatas.

yep... the sentra SE-R was the nissan accent/elantra to some degree, but the altima was their sonata.

with this huge possible recall, nissan's image is greatly damaged and may swing more people to hyundai. plus taking some of the public pressure away from hyundai and its ****zy CEO

Those nissan 2.5l 4cyl engines must be turds, At work I drive an 04 nissan frontier (last year for the compact size) 2.4l/automatic/ king cab. that truck has been overweight since the day the boss had it outfitted with tool bins, ladder racks and a lot of tools. I once drove it across the scales at 6,500 lbs! and I have towed up to 5,500 pounds with it. talk about drivetrain abuse! total of 12,000 GCVW. with 32,000 miles on it, that engine uses NO oil and and still gets fair gas mileage. not here to brag on nisssan as I am still a HYUNDAI man!

yeah i work at nissan here in SC
im a tech and its not fun for us either we are having to do tons of engines in those 2.5s. those idiots upfront selling cars are still trying to sell the new ones and then have te car come in the shop and get a new motor. what a bunch of idiots. 6.7 hours a pop isnt lovely for us either. stupid Nissan sh*t. By the way i work there and wouldnt buy any of their cars. That includes the 350z. it is a total garbage box.

This wont hurt nissan's image, even toyota had a big recall. Its not like the ford and firestone cover up crap.
