The other car we have is a '01 Sentra SE currently with 59k miles. It's a nice car but I don't really like the bumpy suspension. Right now someone is doing a group buy on another forum for Ksport coilovers, $699 shipped. Being a total noob with suspensions, I don't really know whether I should jump on it or not. It's a daily driver and no AutoX or anything like that.

If you don't like bumpy then probably not, especially if you don't autox. The suspension is just THAT stiff afterwards.

I'm running stock alloys and even with it on full soft (dampening) it's still bouncy from the tires (34psi cold).

It's up to you....that's a really great price and they are well worth the money if they are what you want.

Tim hit it on the nose! What are your plans with your car? Do you plan to race it? Autcross, etc?

These are a very nice setup for getting things low and stiff! You will be getting a heck of a deal for that price and if you have the money, buy them. Even if you do not use them I would guess you would get your money out of them. I am running Ksports and I am glad I took the money and spent it on them.

Last weekend at a charity autocross/skid pad event, my car was a different animal! I was not ready for this kind of racing feel, so I have to defineately get some seat time to bring times down. I was not ready for the car to want to take slaloms at 70-75 mph. or to do a skid pad at almost 30mph and eachturn I took inside rear tire would be off the ground.

These are a stiff system, so if you do not like bounce, then you might not like these as you choice, but if you want to race and have a blast doing it, then you might have to live with it. Well, you could still have a blast, but man, it is so much more fun with a stiffy!!!!LOL!!! Sorry, that was gross, I retract that statement!

Well, good luck to you, if you have question let them out. If you type in Ksport in the search you will also see tons of stuff posted about these here. 2loud2k is selling them to and he had the ones Tim is running on right now.

Cheers,
Jason

if you think that the sentra is bouncy...then no! i have the TEIN set up and they are juat about the same stiffness of the ksport if not more so...and on crappy roads it can get hairy...but i love the feeling of being on rails...

there are other things to do if you dont like the bouncy feeling and that is upgrade the sway bar and strut braces...these will improve handling without sacrificing the ride.

Doesn't Tein make a system for luxury cars now. Get it lowered but has a cady feel?

I am sure they are not 699 and probably do not make it for the tiby too.

I did not now the teins are stiffer... I did not know you could get stiffer... This is almost starting to sound like a porn...ohono!

yeah...i think they are...i'll go get the spring rates...what are the ksports?

450 upfront and 280 in the rear.

i think the front is alittle too stiff due to the fact that they are made for a 6 cylinder...but its still better than the rest.

are the ksports rebuildable??

front 386 rear 281

and ksports for 699.00 shipped, i call BS (not to you personally) or they are used coilovers, or you have to get 40 people to get that price, or you have to wait 2 months for delivery. and these ksports ARE rebuildable. there is a service/warranty metalic sticker on the underside of each coilover shock assembly.
