So i have a toggle switch that im using to break the line between my battery and power inverter in my trunk. I need a place somewhere in the vehicle to mount the switch but i wanted to ask around and get a good idea. The toggle switch is pretty standard, i got it from auto zone, it looks like thttp://slf.en.alibaba.com/product/50039101/50177204/Toggle_Switches/Toggle_Switches.htmlhis:
expet its round on one end of the mounting box thing. now ive seen pictures of the elantra gls sedan (which is what i have) that have them somehow mounted into those dummy switch mounts by the light dimmer adjusting wheel.
i dont even know how im going to mount this thing.

How much amperage is going to be running through it? Make sure you get one that can handle the load. Or if the load is too large, you might want to think about a relay setup.
I have a toggle switch located in the bin under the radio for a kill switch.

It's not really that special. All you have to do is drill a hole, take the nut off of the switch, slide the switch through the hole, and put the nut back on...

a bunch of pain in da ars plastic you have to use a dremmel to remove the plastic for the switches to be mounted in there. kinda took me a while to figure out, then i came up with the idea i have now. remove the 3 blanks from the switch panel. then fab up a backing plate to fill in the 3 empty spaces. then dremmel out the holes for the new switches. just make sure you leave enough wire for the switches for when you install and remove the dash fascia. otherwise you pull out the new switch wiring easily.

for a discrete look you could mount it in the change holder or whatever it is under those blank spots.

yeah, that would be a nice idea, it would be annoying trying to get to the fuse box though.
If you dont need to get to the fuse box much, i would suggest it :), it would also be hidden well.
Another place you could mount it, if you dont smoke, would be inside the ash tray.
