I'm surprised that they took ABS out of the GS model. I guess they needed to keep it cheap so that the Yaris and Fit don't steal too many sales.

LOS ANGELES, June 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyundai Motor America has
announced pricing for the all-new 2007 Accent GS and SE three-door models,
as well as pricing for the 2007 four-door Accent GLS. The four-door GLS
arrived at dealerships in December 2005 as a '06 model-year vehicle, while
the new three-door GS and SE are now arriving in showrooms across the
country.
The 2007 Hyundai Accent model lineup pairs a sleek, confident design
with unsurpassed standard safety technologies, interior volume, and power
in the 3-door and 4-door entry car segments.
All Accent models come standard with extensive safety technologies,
including a total of six airbags -- dual front airbags, front seat-mounted
side-impact airbags and roof-mounted side-curtain airbags covering both
rows of seating. Accent is powered with a segment-leading 1.6-liter DOHC
CVVT inline four cylinder engine which peaks at 110 horsepower at 6000 rpm
for sporty pick-up without sacrificing fuel efficiency. Accent delivers up
to 37 mpg highway with an automatic transmission. Additionally, consumers
looking to customize their vehicle will love Accent's 35 available parts
and accessories which can be installed at any Hyundai dealership.

ACCENT GS
In keeping with Hyundai's high-value approach to standard equipment,
the Accent GS not only looks good, it also has a remarkable array of
desirable features. Large, legible analog instrumentation keeps the driver
informed, while a tilt steering wheel and an eight-way adjustable driver's
seat with fold-down armrest, reclining rear seat and power steering insure
long-haul comfort. Convenient storage areas are placed throughout the
interior, including the front center console, driver storage tray, door
storage pockets in the front doors and a rear storage tray. Two cupholders
are ideally situated between the driver and passenger for easy reach. A
60/40-split fold-down rear seatback makes it easy to load large objects, or
to mix cargo and passengers for maximum effectiveness. The rear
roof-mounted micro antenna is aerodynamic, flexible and improves signal
strength.
Standard features are comprehensive and not typically found in this
segment, including six airbags, two-speed variable intermittent wipers,
rear spoiler, cabin air filtration, rear window defroster, tachometer,
digital clock, two 12-volt outlets and remote hood and fuel filler door
releases.
ACCENT SE
The sport-oriented Accent SE takes value in an exciting new direction.
SE features standard ABS and four-wheel disc brakes, six airbags, air
conditioning, power windows, dual front illuminated vanity mirrors,
windshield shade band, power door locks, remote keyless entry with alarm
and heated power-adjustable exterior mirrors. On the outside, the 16-inch
alloy wheels and P205/45VR16 tires deliver road-holding capability, and fog
lights keep the driver's path illuminated in adverse weather. The SE is
also equipped with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and
metallic interior accents. Additional storage is available with the
seatback pockets. To complete the driving experience, the Accent SE
features a sport-tuned suspension with unique springs, strut valving, roll
bar and steering gear -- delivering in total a 70 percent increase in roll
stiffness over the GLS. A power sunroof and a 220-watt premium audio system
with AM/FM/cassette/six-disc in-dash CD changer with equalizer and
amplifier are optional.
ACCENT GLS
The well-equipped 2007 Accent four-door comes in a single GLS trim
level with either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic
transmission with overdrive. GLS trim includes a wide range of features,
including several items that are either optional or unavailable on
competitive vehicles in the segment, including a powerful 1.6-liter CVVT
engine, 172-watt six-speaker AM/FM/CD audio system with equalizer, air
conditioning, power steering, tilt steering wheel and dual front
illuminated vanity mirrors. There are a total of six airbags, including
dual front airbags, front seat-mounted side-impact airbags and roof-mounted
side-curtain airbags. The Premium Package includes ABS, power windows, door
locks, heated power-adjustable exterior mirrors, and remote keyless entry
with alarm. The Premium Sport Package adds all the equipment in the premium
package plus 15-inch alloy wheels with 195/55VR15 tires.

I wish the GLS Sedan came standard with power, but i guess that helps keep the price down. I really don't see why someone would pay $14,710 for an auto Accent with air, when they could get an Elantra for close to that price, maybe even cheaper. I think I read a couple months ago the SE is suppose to have like 62 add-ons, similiar to the Scions.

I went to the dealership today and noticed one sitting there. The center console leaves something to be desired, but otherwise I think it looks very nice. If not for having the Elantra I might have considered it as a next vehicle.

edit: sorry, Itslate and I can't type...lol

Prices seem like they've been inflated over the past couple years or maybe it's just me. I got my 2002 GLS for 11,800 before taxes and stuff with 42 miles on it. The only options I didn't get were ABS, TCS, and leather. Did I just negotiate a good deal or do those sticker prices seem a little higher?

It's a combo of a lot of things.

Hyundai can sell cars for a little more now.

The Accents have more features now.

Those are MSRP prices, which nobody ever pays (or should be paying).

Then there is all the things that vary by salesperson, dealer, time of year, etc.

damn..only 110 hp. I'll stick with the elantra unless they come out with some sweet *** turbo kits for that car

In Canada we will get the SR version with some accessories.
Take a look a this website : ACCENT SR 3 DOORS 2007 (http://www4.autonet.ca/FR/Nouvelles/article.php?file=/Nouvelles/nouveau-modele/2006/06/21/1645695.html)

It is a french canadian site but pictures are bilingual :D

It has 17 inches wheels, side skirt, a short ram and a strut bar.

IT IS STILL THE SAME 1.6L ENGINE WITH 110 HP :(

Looks like Alex is right.

I seriously hope Hyundai doesn't make the mistake not to sell a version of the SR here in the US.

thats a nice car...but i would not be spending 16000 for a sr model...especially if they didnt do anything to the engine...now if they dropped the 1.8 or 2.0 in there we would be good to go...
