New headunit Q's ..

Just got done installing my new headunit , I used my shop manual and it went smooth , BUT the green wires , one with a white tracer and the other with a black tracer , were unused . I checked and it says they are for illumination ? Could this be why my dome light dosen't work at all? I tried two diff bubls , both new !, by the way when connected to powed one lights up my dash , and the other lights up my dash and sets off my lights "on" warning

What kind of heaunit is it?

Did you use an aftermarket wiring hardness or did you only use the one that came with the head unit?

Well my car was broken into and the unit was cut out from the harness .. So i got myself a new Jvc and used the harnewss from that and just used my shop manual to hoke it up coorectly ..

are the green wires coming from the stereo's wiring harness? or are they coming from the snipped harness from your dash?

in my JVC headunit, this is for when you turn the lights on in your car, it dims the headunit. one does it fully, the other wire only partially lights it up. i hooked up to the one that fully illuminated it.

yea, thats what happend to me except i ended up having only one wire not used which was one of the illumination wires.
