View Full Version : HitH 2007 ? for those that attended 06
For those that CAME TO THE MEET I a few questions.
Did you like the dates we had it?
What did you like the best?
What would you change?
Did we spend enough or too much time at the airport?
I know Shaun wants to do this again next year, which I hope he does, and has been posting about AutoX, but I really doubt that will be possible. This is an active and open airport. They have no idea when a plane will want to take off or land, so I don't think they are going to let us set up a bunch of cones and block the planes for hours. That is why we had to limit the time for the grudge runs.
So the last question is, will you still come if you can't do AutoX?
Hope to see you all there in 07

I think it should be done at a different location each year. To accomodate everyone. And give it a different name each time according to where you have it. Like if it was in FL. it could be called HITB Hyundai in the beach. If it was in like Colorodo it could be Hyundai in the Mountains. Stuff like that.
well organise it! - There should be a west coast meet, but HitH is going to be an annual meet in Ohio. There is always room to have more. Pitt is looking to become a late summer annual meet in PA, so if you want one in your area start it up. :) Hyundaimeet.com is open to anyone to help promote all hyundai events.
There are not too many areas where you can get access to a runway to do races and not have to pay a ton of money to do it, so we are keeping HitH where it is.

I think that's the best idea I've heard since the idea was brought up.... We should move the HITH...and after every costal point has been hit we can have a HIA...Hyundai In America...and meet in central...yea know

i agree with Gman, Hith should become an annual thing and keep it at the airport in ohio. I dont wanna hear any excuses for gas or i have to save up. I came from Milwaukee, nearly 9 hours and I only spent $150 total the whole trip. That included gas, food, liquor, movies. Felix drove 13hours here from canada... There should be no reason y anyone cant come to HITH.

I don't like the time that it was held. I couldn't go this year because of school (high school) and I wont be able to go next year if it's around the same time because I'll be graduating.

It was on the 16th Who was still in school. Most schools get out a few days earlier than that, dont they?
HitS--Hyundai in the South. Yeah man!!! Represent the south!!!
Thats what DFWHyundais.com is aiming for :) Starting out small for local meets, then expanding to all of Texas, then maybe even all of the south :P
could someone please answer the questions?

alright GMAN.
Yes, the dates were great! Not to late so it wasnt too hot.
I liked the grudgeruns the best.
I would prolly change the ammount of cars that came.
I think time at the airport was just right. One afternoon was enough to talk to everyone and stuff.
And yes, i will definitely come next year even without autox

After HITH, on the way home my wife and I discussed hosting a meet. Either in FL, or maybe Montgomery, AL so we could all go to the Hyundai plant there. We have an 1/8 mile track in Holt (about 25 miles away) that we could go to also, or possibly rent out for the day or something if it's not going to conflict with any of their scheduled events.
For the meet in Ohio though... I think the main thing needed was more oganization -Shaun- ;) But yeah, like better planning, set times for when to show, and the events. I think for a 4 day event (originally planned 4 days at least) we should have spent more time at the Airport. We didn't get any good aerial shots of the cars, cause everyone took off before the flights. We didn't have a set time for the car show, no public involvement, it would have been cool to have the locals come check out our rides. We needed to advertise it around the surrounding towns, drop flyers on any Hyundai's you come across in the area, etc.
I don't think I'm going to be able to make it to another meet that far away, unless something drastic changes, and it becomes like HIN or something.

The dates were good. Maybe one week later would be better for any high school people (here in NoVA school is just ending today).
The drag races were the most fun, most unique part.
The location is good, everyone at the airport was friendly and even interested in what we were doing.
Basically what I think needs to be done is to have everything ready to go when people get there (for example, have food ready).
Turnout isn't something the organizer can change, that's something WE have to change by being there.
I hope to be attending the HITH and Pittsburgh meets for a long time to come.

Did you like the dates we had it?
Yep, loved the dates, maybe one weekend earlier next year would be better though since I know I will be off for 60 days of training next summer and dont know when it will start.
What did you like the best?
Everything! The plan ride was awesome! The scenery, the people, the bbq, the grungeruns, the sleeping in the airport, the pictures, the women.... :D
What would you change?
More activities perhaps (like the AutoX), and enough to fill 2-3 days completely.
Did we spend enough or too much time at the airport?
Not enough time IMO.

Loved the dates, loved the weather, loved the time. It was my first Hyundai meet and I loved it, I know it would just be even better next year with more cars or more events, etc. I will definitely attend next year as long as my current job then is as leniant as this one.

Same here. It's quite a good ride for me to go down so that was out for me.

Did you like the dates we had it?
Dates don't really matter to me. Give me a month's notice and I will tell work to go hump a tree.
What did you like the best?
It was awesome. Well, other than the party poopers that ran back to Columbus. But it was great caravaning all over the county. So many awesome people :)
What would you change?
AutoX! Full group caravans! More Grunge runs! We need to bring a portable pool or something next time. Let's get a dealer involved next time and get them to help pick up the cost.
Did we spend enough or too much time at the airport?
Waaaaaay more time could have been spent there. Some people just wanted to steal Towncar man's thunder.
P.S. Shouts out to:
Jerzy and Chris
Mike (The Cah! The Cah!)
Ashley and Mike ... thx for the pizza hut! and taking Canadian money!
Shawn -- Craziest towncar ever!
Felix and Alex
Rob (next year buddy, I'll be waiting for more grunge runs!)
Bike and Destroy (keep ridin' them out)
and everyone else who was there.

The meet should stay there, it allows to people from Canada to come. If it's farther next year i will probably not go. It is ever 14 hours drive from home.
The place was awesome too, we had a lot of space to expose our cars and the road to go there was so nice ! the most beautiful that i've seen in my life !!!
if you want to do a meet in an other place, just do it ! but please, make a 2007 HITH !!!

I have a devlish idea....
How about we infiltrate the Great American Dream Cruise (typically a mostly Musclecar, Hotrod, Classic American Iron event with thousands of these cars from across the world) with our next all Hyundai meet.
Can't you just see it...a bunch of Hyundais amongst a bunch of American iron...
I think that'd be classic...
LOL
Peace,

I think an idea like that would be cool if it was asian imports in general.

i will say this...curt mcallister (from hyundai, he was at the s3 meet) said they did that about 3-4 years ago for the tib meet, had about 20-25 tibs roll down woodward for the dream cruise. he said that (being that detroit is motor city) they got quite a few upset people/mean looks. i went down last year and was solo (trying to get to 2loud2k2xd 4 miles down the road) and i was fine...i dont think i would want to do it in a group. you get a bunch of hot rod fanatics and union auto makers all gathered up, i would not want to be in the import group for that.
i felt out of place just driving down the road

my problem with this was that it was early in the summer. i've had to consolidate bills and get money flowing before i could think about dissappearing for a weekend.
