I definitly want one it looks way better (especially the hard jagged lines like the taillights) than Pontiac's Solstice and has more standard features as well.

Here are some links to check it out:

Looks nice. Solstice looks like a round piece of crap.

I like the look of the solstice better myself, I'm thinking about getting the turbo'd solstice when it comes out.

all of GMs 2 seater convertibles have the same waterfall in the center console as the C5 corvettes.... can't they revamp it or something? maybe have a different design or something....

The solstice is a piece of ****. I had to drive one at work and I hated it. You can hear everything (I know, it's a convertable, but still). The acceleration SUCKS! The gearing feels like a truck, and the shifter is awkward. You sit so low, yet the shifter is so high, it gets tiring real quick. There's also the fact that i'm 6'4", so I felt really cramped, and there is no dead pedal, you have to slide your foot under the clutch to rest it. We have gotten a few in already with the pinion seal leaking on the rearend.

Watch out at the GM dealerships with these cars. I read an article a little while ago that while GM offers this "low price gaurantee" the dealerships are still free to charde what they want. Since the Solstice and the Sky are both hot commodities (the new mustang on the market may have cooled it off I don't know) the GM dealerships were charging over MSRP for them. Rediculous I say but that's what they were doing.

And I do agree, the Sky is a much better looking car. Just a shame that american cars are such p.o.s. compared to imports.

As far as I've been told (and please, someone correct me if I've been told wrong), it's illegal to sell a car for over the MSRP, and it's considered price gouging...

Yes and no. It's illegal for the manufacturers to REQUIRE the dealerships to charge above MSRP.

This is going to sound stupid...

I actually like the look of the Sky better but I'd rather drive the Solstice. I don't know.

Super, that DOES sound stupid!

That's like saying "I think Vida Guerra is hotter, but I'd rather do Rosie Perez"

They're basically the same car. Although the Sky has revised bump stops, and better ride quality and handling. Overall the Sky is the better car in every way. It's just a little more expensive. But it's still a Saturn and doesn't compare to the new Mazda MX-5 (just wait for the Mazdaspeed version).

Unfortunately, none of the roadsters are made for tall people.

i dont think its illegal for dealers to charge over MSRP...hell, i remember just a couple months ago seeing an article about dealerships selling the new mustang cobras (or whatever top of the line model thats coming out soon) for 20k over MSRP because theyre so hot

The Sky is the best thing to happen to Saturn in years. It's a car I could actually consider buying. My sister has a Saturn Ion-2. It's basic transportation, nothing exciting at all. It's been reliable but it's a point A to point B vehicle. My Hyundai feels like a luxury car in comparison!

I agree with what Red said...

The fact of the matter is that dealers are going to do this until people stop showing up with extra cash to get the "first one". But that will never stop so it's a null/void point.

Hence the reason why I plan on waiting a year (or more if necessary) before buying the new Dodge Challenger...cause I am not gonna play the bidding game with a dealer...especially these cutthroat A** dealers here in Detroit.

Peace,

Chill

I missed that part of this thread.

Dealers sell over MSRP all the time. The FJ40 was going for 10K over when it came out a month or so again. So were the New Beetles and PT Cruisers when they came out.

It's not uncommon at all.

no its not...its called a market adjustment...or atleast that what it says on the sticker...its rediculous if you ask me...but thats economics for ya...not as many products to meet the demand...so the price goes up...too much of a product and the price goes down...simple

i think the solstice looks ten times better...i still would not buy one though...gm has improved but not enough for me to buy something made from them.

People who pay over MSRP are stupid or have a lot of money to burn.
I special ordered my first G35C and bought it the very first day it was available for sale: 10/31/02. I paid sticker; there's no way I would've paid more that that.

I'm 6'4" and don't fit in either of them at all. My eye-sight is right in line with the top of the windshield frame.
