Well, despite my clean driving record...I got in an accident today. I was completely at fault. Bumper to bumper on the highway and I was a little too close (as is everyone at that speed, but that's no excuse). The girl in front of me in a 5spd 2005 Civic SI in a lovely charcoal grey stopped suddenly and I didn't stop in time. Not a rediculous amount of damage, but I can see a gap between the bumper and the bottom line on the headlight.

I'm a moron

Sorry about your car man. But it could have been worse right? That doesn't look that bad.

BTW, Your sig is HILARIOUS!

thanks about the sig. Yeah it could have been worse, I'm glad it wasn't but the misses is pretty pissed with me. At the moment, with me not working because of our immigration woes and with Becky trying to pay off a little bit of school debt, this is not what we needed.

Look at it this way. Money will always be an issue for most people. At least this is only cosmetic, because if your car wasn't running and this was your only mode of transportation, you would be in deeper poo

Sorry to hear about the wreck, but you know, it happens to all of us at some time.

The good part is that no one was hurt.

I've been in a couple of at fault rear-end collisions, and usually they all happen the same way, and it always makes you feel really bad afterwards, cause you know there are a few things that could have been done differently perhaps...and sometimes not...

We can always say "I should've done this, should've done that" and hindsight is 20/20, but don't beat yourself up, because accidents are just a part of driving, that's why we call em accidents. Now it's just a matter of allowing more distance so that it doesn't happen again.

Your misses will cool down, the damage can be fixed...just keep pressin mayun as when it rains it pours sometimes (sorry for the cliche).

Good luck...

Peace,

Good post. I'm glad you didn't try to pretend it wasn't your fault or they did something wrong, etc like a lot of people do.

The damage isn't too bad, good luck.

thanks everyone.

and thanks super. I'm a big believer in telling it like it is. I had a speeding ticket about 4 years ago. I was caught fair and square, I knew it. The officer asked if I wanted to see the radar gun to make sure he had it right...I said no because I knew I was speeding. I took the ticket and made sure to take it right. He said it was the easiest ticket he ever gave, that nobody anymore just takes them without arguing that somehow it wasn't their fault. He even knocked it down to the next lowest ticket for me so that there would be no points.

Sometimes it just pays not to sugar coat it and make it sound like you didn't do anything wrong.

back on topic. I've got a friend who can get discounted parts because of connections he has working in a garage. He's looking for me this morning and will get back to me tonight with some better prices hopefully.
