So I go to the mall in a nice rich neighborhood to buy some shoes today only to hear my name over the intercom an hour later telling me to report to my vehichle. I run probably as fast as I ever have only to get to my car where there is a cop and a mall security guard. Passanger window is gone, the whole console around the stereo is destroyed, and my sweet memphis amp has dissappeared :mad: I'm told to check and make sure nothing else is gone and no, it's just the amp and a whole lot of broken stuff. The cop leaves, I clean the glass from the passanger seat so my wife can get in, and I go to start the car. Now I know the ignition is messed up too! Some jackass that didn't know what he was doing broke all this and left with a $400 amp. My deductible is$500 and now i'm without my wheels for who knows how long. What the hell is wrong with people?!!!

Sucks.

All I can suggest is an alarm system (if you don't have one), but even alarms these days don't stop people when they want something.

Check your insurance; you may have a $500 deductible on collision, but a lower deductible on "comprehensive" coverage which would apply to things such as people breaking into your car. I think we have a $500 collision deductible and a $0 comprehensive. Check your policy and/or call your agent.

the alarm was there and still going off when I got to the car. But like you said, even alarms don't stop them. I guess I should be thankful it was in a full parking lot in the middle of the day and whoever did this didn't know what they were doing when they tried to hotwire it.

Samething here, my son borrowed my GT to get the last of his stuff from his apartment outside of Temple University. He did everything right, parked in a lighted area, took the face plate off the CD player, etc

the assholes threw a rock through the window & got about 5 of my very unusual music, Type O, William Shatner, Lasgo , Ministery & a rare boot leg of a local baltimore band & about 4.50 in change.... (like they are going to get more than a dollar per CD somewhere) They also took the face plate which he put under the seat, he had thought about bringing it in but over the last 6 moths he lived there, no cars were broken in to...

On the bright side they did not take my skull light that sits where the light sits, or my EZ pass or my garage door opener, but they did about 600 in damages for the glass & I had to get a new CD player (since a face plate cost as much as a new player) which was cover by insurance.

He did feel bad, but I don't blame him. These low life don't give a **** about anyones stuff, & their whole take was less that maybe $10.00. under next time I'll leave the arm rest door open to show them that there are not CD as well as the change door on the drivers side...

Ya i had my car broke into in front of my f-ing house last year.. just broke the driver side window and the fags took off b4 i could do anything about it.. luckily they stole nothin..
