with some of the stuff that has been posted lately, who thinks we should get a "Political Section"?? call it 'political postings/discussions'. i think it would be good for discussions to get people through the day and for people who want to talk about something political (ie, smoking, immigration, stuff like this) can keep it in that section and out of the off topic. political sections usually get pretty heated, so it would almost be like a flame room/kitchen, but hopefully with more intelligent posters....for the most part...

anyone?

politics lead to personal attacks... (not that they matter) but usually they end up being shouting matches... just use Offtopic...

IMO, this forum is about Elantras and Cars in general. Anything more than that is "off-topic" and belongs in that section.

yeah, but im on several other car forums and a few of them have a political section as well as an offtopic. some even have nice sections like pics/videos (sometimes split up for cars and off topic pics/videos)...i dont think a political discussion section is a huge request.

contrary to popular belief, we do like to have discussions. think of the immigration thread, gay marriage thread, both were close to 200 replies, maybe more...

Is there a need for a special part just for politics? You can post all political topics in Off topic, so I don't see the need for a new section...

I like the concept, but offtopic seems to be working well so far.

Personally, put it in off-topic and learn to grow up. Too many people in this forum can't have a decent discussion with opposing views without pissin and moaning. Then the flaming and personal attacks. Grow up, learn to understand people have different opinions than those you hold and go on. It's the frickin internet. How serious can we be if Al Gore says he invented it?
