anyone seen this piece of work? me and my boss were at lunch yesterday and one rolled thru wendy's parking lot. only word that came to my mind was "pimp". the one we saw was black. i think the thing that made me fall in love with it was when i saw the tail lights, the 2 black body color bars going thru the tails just looked great...we played the "guess how much that car costs" game, i went for 110k, he guessed about the same...base is around 84-87k, with options (as tested on page below) comes to about 105k.

Looks very Maybachish. Never been a fan of big cars, it's definately a top 5 pimp-mobile.

Never been impressed by MB's, and the new ones just plain turn me off. Maybe it's my practical side, but cost to maintin one of those land barges is outrageous.

I actually dont even like the new body style. The last body style was the ****. I am more a the S class fan than any other MB.

It needs to go on a 1000 lb. diet. If I'm spending that kind of money on a car it better not have a slushbox.

Don't care for the taillights, other than that is looks like just another MB. BMW at least comes up with new styling accents and body lines frequently. MB seems to me like they don't do things that drastically. Perhaps they're afraid of creating something too new?

About the auto pilot acceleration and braking...it's been around for awhile in testing. Read somewhere that pretty much all the high end auto manufacturers know about it, have it, MB I guess is just beating them to the punch.

However I will say I'm not a MB fan at all. I'd much rather have a 5 series or higher BMW...or if affordable to me, an M3, M5, or M6.

I'd prefer an M6 Coupe, the latest edition... But it's almost $300 000, so no way... :(

There is no German manufactured car that I desire. They are too finicky too expensive and cost 3 fortunes to maintain. Purchasing a car is only half the battle. Maintaining it is the other.

I see people all the time who have scraped the money to buy a luxury car and then freak when everything costs so much to maintain. See it daily.

Yeah, I've seen quite a few around here. I think they are OK, nothing too interesting though.

What about the Cayman S? Right now that's the only sub $100k German car that I'd consider buying someday.

They nice, very fast, very expensive.

very fast

WTF car are you thinking of? 382hp and over 4700lbs...14.2 @ 100mph is not at all what i would consider "fast" out of a 100k$ car. 14.2 isn't really "slow" but it is in NO way "very fast"

If I'm gonna drop that cash, it'll be a ZO6 that get's delivered to Lingenfelter's shop in South Bend. There is NO german car that is of interest to me. They tend to "over-engineer" everything.

not another one of you

all you lingenfelter nut swingers are crazy. you pay like what....50k$ for a built engine twin turbo'd that they extimate 725BHP/730 ft/lb, 3.2 0-60, 9.5 1/4 mile [ http://www.lingenfelter.com/pack_cor_c5_725.htm ], and thats not even with the price of the car (figure 40k for a c5 zo6 and the new z06 well say 70k).

do you know what i could do to a corvette with 25k$ let alone 50k? the ONLY thing you are paying for is the name. 50k$ for 730hp is complete ****. i cant wait to see this local guys 427 TT vette, twin GT35r turbochargers, will be pushing over 1,000hp, and im sure he didnt spend 50k, 40k, even 20k to do it.

Before you go and get you panties in a bunch, those are the "package" deals they do for the ones who want a "name" like Saleen, or Roush. They still do custom work and turn out 1 of a kinds that push 1100hp.

evan938

and its stupid. if theyre charging 50k for a weak *** package for a "name", what are they going to charge for a custom set up with a "name"?

HEY, PEOPLE buy the MB's and BMW's for the name and they're still junk, so what's the difference?
