Good to hear they are showing up in dealers now. I won't be surprised to see them selling 10,000 units a month in the US by the end of the year.

(For comparison there was 6,156 Santa Fes sold in June this year).

i had a chance to drive a new santy back in march when i was in europe. it was the CRDi turbo diesel, and it was okay. build quality and interior appointments were very good, but ride and handling were so-so. the drive-by-wire seemed to have a lag and was hard to get used to. it was noisy over bumps, just like my elantra.

I sat in it at the Chicago Auto Show in February. I did like the fit&finish of the thing, but obviously didn't get a chance to drive it. My father has been waiting for these to come out. He was going to get a Saturn Vue, but I convinced him to wait to check out the new SF - hopefully it was worth the wait.

The Hyundai dealer minutes from my house just took delivery of the new Santa Fe as well ;-) Very nice looking and will have to take one for a spin.

I wish Hyundai America and take a chance on the CRDi engine over here, but that ain't happening. Oh wells.

The HMA website now lists it as "Now available" which is the same as the Accent GS/SE although they don't have the specific regular pages up and running yet.

No where near as fast as the RAV4's 14.9.

It's a nice looking car! Maybe in a year or so we will be trading the Accent for a Santa or Tucson. I am leaning towards the santafe.....it just looks awesome! I might have to check the dealership this weekend to see if they have any yet.

Someone who has just recently had the chance to drive one said that it felt like a 7.0-7.5 second car in that respect. Who knows until we get some official info though.

Very sleek lines, not too aggressive as in other SUVs... prolly helps with aerodynamics I assume.

Saw it today at the dealer, Beautifull, also saw the 3dr Dark Gray Metallic Accent Hatch with 16" alloys, I am really thinking about it

It maxes out at $33,345. That's an expensive Hyundai. I'm sure they'll have no problems selling the GLS and lots and lots of SE's. Limited's with the full package will probably be rare, but let's hope not, let's hope a lot of people buy them.

I noticed the 2007 Santa Fe popped up on the HyundaiUSA site yesterday.

Yep. They don't have the 360˚ interior/exterior up yet or the competition comparison (which is my favorite part). The color selection on the build your own isn't working fully yet either. Oh wells. It should be up by the end of the month.

what got my attention about the 07 Santa Fe is the TOP audio system;
Infinity logic 7 with 10 speakers including subwoofer and (according to webtech) 660 peak watts. The amplifier is 12 channels X 55W max (subwoofer is dual voice coil) Man thats gotta sound good.I want to go and take a "test listen"

I was at my dealer this morning, they had at least 5.

I had to get to work and couldn't really take a look or anything.

HOLY!!! I just did a "build your own" at Hyundaiusa.com - the top-end Santa Fe, with all options comes out to be $33,345! That's a huge price tag, for Hyundai. Yes, it's probably the nicest a Santa Fe has ever been, but that's $10G over my Santa Fe. The chepest 3.3L engine trim is $29,345 with all options. Wow.

I think it would look better with a more pronounced front bumper; the front is a little too aero for an SUV, imo.

ive driven a few of them already, and other than the inside looking a little like the sonata/azera, they dont impress me. considering all we seem to be getting are the 2.7l awd models, they dont seem any faster around town than an auto elantra. we did get in one limited 3.3 awd model, 29K for a hyundai, id rather get a ridgeline!
btw, the stereo SUCKS bigtime!!sounds like pooo

SuperGLS
07-21-2006, 11:45 PM
Mike, you are couple posts too slow... ha.

2.7l Mu engine is 181HP, so it's about 40-45HP more than the Elantra. With the extra weight I'm sure there isn't too much difference.

What about the stereo sucks? Which one of the stereo options?

No answer?

Take a look at this, it's the International Santa Fe site. Most of the info is accurate, only the engine choices (2.2l CRDi not available here) and the Self Leveling system isn't for the NA market. It's a beautiful design on the site though:

Here is the review from Edmunds.

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/FullTests/articleId=116262

Their only concerns seem to be acceleration and braking. That's not too bad. The 3.3l Lambda works wonders in the Sonata, but the Santa Fe is 400 pounds heavier.

I got mine back in June. Its an SE. That means power everything and alloy wheels. I think it was $16,500 at 45 mile on the speedometer. Its really under powered but after about 1k miles it picks up abit. Cool car though. I still miss my 01 Elantra though.
