Here are some official pictures of the 2007 Tiburon. I guess you'd call it a GK3? Very strange to have two refresh/facelifts, but the timing wasn't right to release another model before they make the big changes in 2008 (as 2008 or 2009 model). First pics courtesy of CSS.

It would look badass if it was black.
I like it. It looks more exotic. The headlights remind me of an Astin Martin.

is it me or does the rear kinda slope like a 911? or even a cayman? i like the fender treatment as well.
the bottom grill though i think is hideous and with a nice body kit that thing would look sick!!
now where is the rwd v6/8!!!

Lipstick on a pig. Same old car, new bumper/lights.
With the major redesign coming in about 2 years, I guess they had to do this to keep selling them. I wouldn't buy a Tib until after that redesign. Look how much each model has improved (like Sonata, XG->Azera, New Accent, New SF), the new Tib (or Tib replacement) will have to be WAY better than it's current form, right? It's still basically the same car they were selling in 2002 (as an '03 model) isn't it?

the hyundai rep at s3 told us that the 2007 would be a facelift and that the 2008 production/2009 model year would be the NEW tib, RWD, completely different body. a "real" sports car

Looks very much like the Proto Spirra from the headlights..
I started this thread thinking it was the 07 face lift http://www.elantraxd.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17502 but i guess they arent.

I just noticed, the large gills in the sides behind the front wheel are gone. That's why it looked so different to me.

Yes, the gills are gone. (How's the shark going to breathe?) But they have been replaced by vents reminiscent of those on the BMW Z07.
I like the new look ... it's a nice departure from the '03-current design. The front end looks like it's pissed and elated at the same time. Read ... psychotic, as Levianthant stated.

from hyunelan2's 3rd pic, the headlights look very cavalier-ish

I'm not too fond of the lower front grill either. However I do like the new fender "vents" and I really like the wheels. The back is a small improvement either.

I don't really like the side design....no more gills :(
The front & back look good though....with a couple of modifications it could look great ;)
Well, I found my next car if my current plans fall through...

It looks ok, I think it would be better if they had the car droped a little. I think the interior could of looked a little bet better then the same.

After looking at this for the last day, I think I'm going to have to go ahead and say new design (in OEM form) = "chic car."

My sentiments exactly. . . of course I've always considered the tibs "chic cars". Anything that is that overweight, that underpowered and looks fast is a chic car IMO.

Definately too high... Think of all the drag... Probably the first thing to do if anyone gets one would be to lower it.

idk for the time being i'd take the current tib(06) se or gt over that half-a** remodel. I think the 2003-2006 was a really a nice body style for the car. Hopefully this time they will cut down on weight for the facelift as the 06 gt weighs close to 3000 pounds which hmm sports car and that number dont go in the same sentence.... but i still like the car. Would for sure get the gt 06 untill the new face lift and rwd hotness comes out lol

I personally (and with no substantial proof) think of this remodel like this:
Ya know how each all-new model has at least some-what of a resembelance to the past? My theory is the new Tib was going to look so different than the 03-06, they had to make something to bridge the gap.
Probably not, just thinking out loud. When is this 'unicorn car' (mythical, unknown, non-existant) Tiburon with RWD and super-car perfomance supposed to be available anyway? Considering there's little more than rumors about it, no designs, no spyshots, and no engineering as to what it will be powered with - it's not going to hit the streets until probably 2009, if at all. Who know what car market is going to be in another 3 years? Have we found any proof they're even making another one anywhere other than internet-forum rumors?
The fronts a little Aston Martin esqu, but lower it and i would totally rock that...

Interesting note on weight...
2006 Tiburon GS (2.0L 4cyl 5M): 2898 lbs. (auto 2972)
2006 Tiburon GT (and Limited) (2.7L 6cyl 5M) : 2969 lbs. (auto 3010)
2006 Tiburon SE (2.7L 6cyl 6M): 2986 lbs. (no auto)
2006 Hyundai Elantra GLS Sedan (2.0L 4cyl 5M): 2784 lbs. (2837 auto)
2007 Hyundai Sonata GLS Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5M): 3253 lbs. (3266 auto)
*The "Sporty" SE Sonata comes in at 3458 lbs. (of course it IS a V6 putting out about 234/226)

3000 lbs for a sports car is excellent. Not many of them can claim such a low weight. Plus the tiburon, with 4 seats, is not a sports car. Sports coupe maybe.

You know what would be a funny mod? I noticed that under the hood it has a slot. Imagine some ricer buys a black one and puts a horizontal light in that slot. A light that goes side to side like on Knight Rider lol....

yuck yuck and yuck! I dont like what they did with the body style, I am very partial to the 2003 and up styling...actually a 2003 with the 2005 head/taillight and front bumper facelift

I actually like it but I thought they where going to do a huge make over to it like they did the santa fe. I like it though the exhaust looks nice. The headlights remind me of a s15 silvia or a aston martin. the rear tailights are killer they look a little like the rx8 ones.
But I guess they still like running that ****e box of a 2.7 liter.

Could there be a chance that it will have the Mu 2.7 and not the Delta 2.7? (Mu is decendent of Delta, with CVVT). Either way, it's not a Lambda :(

That body line cutting across the top of the front wheel well reminds me too much of the 2001 Saturn SC2.

It really should have the Mu engine, the Delta doesn't make sense at this point (neither does a BetaII in the HD, so we should wait on Hyundai for the official answer).

I don't know about you guys, but this '07 Tib is really starting to grow on me.
I saw one this morning on the interstate tricked out real nice...had to do a triple take.
Has a real good exotic look to it, took me a second to realize what it was.
I like the 07 better than my 06 :(
I can't justify trading out though
I like it to, but im holding out for the RWD turbo '08.
The XD should have 100k+ on it by then...
