This was in Mineral Wells, TX. It's the largest & fastest autox course I've ever raced on. I topped out 3rd gear at 80 mph on the back stretch.

I didn't do as well as I would've liked. This car is a completely different animal than what I'm used to. I need a lot more seat time to get the hang of it. And there are a couple of racing schools where hopefully I can improve and break some bad habits.

But here's a video of one of my better runs:

Great job and the camera angle and your car in action was excellent. :)

No worries...a little more time in the car and you will become "one" with it and blast around the cones like it was nothing.

As you say..the STi is a completly different animal, so a learning curve is expected.

Again..that run looked good to me, but what do I know.... ;)

Sweet, I wish I could of heard the engine! Is your STI stock (if you can call an STI stock).

Yeah, that wind noise is a bit excessive, haha. Having the camera on the side of the car helps me see how close I came to the cones. But I'll try to get some in-car video at some point where you'll be able to hear the engine better.

And yeah, it's completely stock for now.

Thanks. I'll be doing plenty of racing with this car. I'm planning on racing with SCCA, Equipe Rapide, and attending track events at Motorsport Ranch whenever possible. I can't wait until the next event. :)

Your friend made a good choice. It's a very competitive car in several classes. STU is the most popular and it's what I'm competing in. But they can also be competitive in AS and SM. The car is just incredibly fast when you need to power out of corners. Have fun and stay safe. :)
