I voted yes, but it'll probably get expensive.

no doubt about that. the the interior is good, which is what a lot of people are concerned about. other than paint and a few engine tweaks, it should be good to go

maybe even a little body work

i voted no, because in the cash and time it is going to take to have it shipped across teh country then rebuild and restored, you could find a better one closer

there is one closer, but it has more problems and costs more

Didn't even notice that shipping would literally be cross country. I'd still say yes because its a collector car. It's going to be expensive and I don't really agree with doing anything but keeping a car like this stock or as close to it as possible, but if thats the car your looking for and it goes for a low price I'd say go for it.

trust me, this will be a full stock restoration... no complex high end stereo work... maybe a mediocore replacement/upgrade adn fresh paint to match the numbers on it and thats that

Just go for it! What are the chances you'll see one in such good shape anytime soon? If it's your dream car, forget everything else and go make your dreams come true!

Shipping from Santa Monica to Leesburg starts around $800 plus pickup and drop off. That's another $250 or so. Is the extra $1,000 worth it for you? I see a LOT of rust on the car so it's going to need a lot of money sunk into it beyond just a paint job.

I vote no.

If it's a turbo car you want I can hook you up with a 2.2L Turbo Caravan. Runs and drives great. Black, tinted windows. A/C doesn't work though.

2.2l TURBO AUTO, reg length caravan. Aluminum honeycom-style wheels. $400 and it's gone.

Much as I hate to come down on your dreams... I also voted no unless you have a bottomless pit of money to put into it. Body looks pretty rough and I'm also suspicious of the fact he says he has another and has swapped parts between them... I wouldn't be surprised if he has been taking the best from this car and putting it into the other... that's what I'd do if I had two to choose from.

Aaron, you should check out http://www.Allpar.com cuz there is alot of info before you try for a shelby.

Bottom line: That car was on the low end of the product line from Chrysler's darkest days. I'm a bit of a Mopar fan, and I wouldn't touch that with a 3000-mile pole (which you will need, by the way, since it's in California).

1989. Vehicle was SUPPOSED to be a 2.5L turbo. Had a long block installed before we bought it and they dropped in a 2.2L. We had to put a crank kit in it because the idiots impacted the flywheel bolts on and stripped all 8 bolt threads. Car had tires put on it 3 years ago. Left driveshaft replaced, brakes, exhaust. Had a newer manifold installed, old one was cracked. Black, tinted windows. Interior is a little rough. Headliner sagging.

Anyting else? Runs great. She got a warning for doing 70 in a 45. She didn't realize how fast she was going.
