Too squirelly for my tastes, especially when tuned over 350 horsepower.

Not a chance in hell... Those heavily modified turbo MR2's are some silly fast machines. I ran accross one with my 350 WRHP Camaro, and he taught me one hell of a lesson!

I would love to know how it turns out. Keep us posted!
I will admit, that being 16 and a "new tuner" or whatever you wanna call it, I don't know cars and parts that well, but I have a DAMN strong feeling that is a big *** turbo AND nitrous. I only say that because you can hear the turbo being reved up, and either the blow off-valves or something else letting out pressure. But I love how at the end you can hear whoever was driving that car hit the gas to try and catch up.

It's entirely possible to get that much power out of just a turbo... so there's no telling if they were using nitrous or not. There was no indication to me that they were using nitrous. It just sounded like a highly-boosted turbo. Similar to my friend's Eclipse running at 17 psi except even more extreme.

OK, to put all these "nitrous theories" at rest.. the car is running a twin turbo jdm engine. I didn't ask about the size of the turbo's he's running, but if you guys are that curious, I can find out.
I talked with my mechanic (who built the motor), and he told me the car was dyno'd at 575whp at the wheels.
Needless to say, I will NOT be putting my car up against this beast. :fiddle:

Holy moly... that explains it. I wonder how much power they were pushing in that video. I wouldn't think that it's 575whp daily driven because it probably needs a very high octane fuel to achieve that much power.

It's only going to make that much power at full throttle. Those turbos have to spool up to make the boost.

I know, I'm just saying that there comes a point when you can't use pump gas on cars when you're boosting them at really high levels. You have to use a high octane fuel to prevent pre-ignition and detonation, or turn down the boost to where it's safe to run premium unleaded.

Showed this clip to a buddy of mine that has as MR2, he went on his forum and he said the dude has about 800bhp, the guy belongs to his forum. I'll be getting one for myself as soon as I graduate.
