Yeah, you wouldn't think so....
On another note, it's good to hear a positive story come out of one of those mail-order Russian bride situations. I guess they aren't all simply looking for US citizenship.

Thanks guys.
Not really spur of the moment, it's just that I don't post about my worthless life unless it's a big deal. Been engaged for over a year. She's not a Russian bride, she's from Mexico, a Mexican bride.
As for the Entourage, I wish, but she doesn't want any kids, even more than I don't want them. Although, I hear that changes after you get married. Still, an Entourage would be cool even without the kids. Maybe in a couple years when it looks better.
I'll be around next week, there is no way I could be without EXD for two weeks, one week is going to be hard enough, but it should be ok. I'm sure you kids will behave yourself.

Since James hasn't been on yet ( obviously... ;) ), I thought I'd let everyone know that the wedding was great. I wanted some rap music to be played, but the bride's parents don't like rap and wouldn't let the DJ play any :(
All in all, it was a fun night and after knowing him for something like 13 years, it was really weird seeing him getting married. Good food, good friends, good times. Also, I got to see him dance, which could have been one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

so um Rdizzie... being that we all drive elantras, and know of the fine dining quality of taco bell, did they cater the event in true crooked h fashion?
evan938
08-15-2006, 02:37 AM
maybe they splurged and went for some chipotle, moes, and la bambas...??
Rdizziedog
08-15-2006, 04:42 AM
I think if James had his way it would have been straight up T-Bell on everyones plate, but there was chicken, potatoes, vegetables, bread things, salad, salmon, etc. Then for dessert there was some cheesecake with berries and stuff, then the wedding cake. It was good stuff.
evan938
08-15-2006, 11:55 AM
just wondering, how many people attended??
SuperGLS
08-15-2006, 01:43 PM
Yeah, it was good. Don't worry, I went to Taco Bell at 4PM yesterday and had my standard two 7-Layers and a water. Then I ate more at the wedding, the food was surprisingly good, and I say that because wedding food is usually poop to me.
Don't listen to Ryan, I have crazy dance skills. I tore up the Hokey Pokey. I'll post some pics when I get them.
I think I'll have some Chipotle today, good call Evan.
Also, at one point the DJ did play Hey Ya'll by Outkast and apparently her grandmother said something to the effect of "How long do we have to listen to this crap?" HA. Oh wells.
And, I also will have to take some pics of the Elantra because it has a bunch of "Just married" crap written on the windows.
EDIT - There was about 80-90 people.

First off, I think James practiced the Hokey Pokey. He was almost to good at it.
Second, I get to take credit for "crap" on the windows (Sorry...). There were seven people outside that wanted to write on his windows, even his brother. But they were all to scared to deface his sacred Elantra. So I figured what the hell, I live 150 miles away, I'll do it.
evan938
08-16-2006, 09:29 AM
if it was anyone else, i would be upset you drew on his car, but because its james, who gives a damn :)...my g/f thought it would be funny to come to my work and write stupid **** all over my windows (meaning i drove home in 95 degree weather, which i hate), and then was upset when she came over an hour later and realized i had already washed it off.
SuperGLS
08-16-2006, 10:38 AM
Ha, I still thought it was my brother. That's ok. At least it was crap that can be cleaned off. It's still on there, I was thinking about leaving it on there until it comes off naturally since I'm lazy but that might be a while, so maybe not.
We got a lot of money and good presents, so that's good. Time to go to the bank.
evan938

I can find my own way actually. Once I've been someplace I don't forget how.
But, by bank I meant the bank, so too bad, ha.
I just wanted to add that I don't "feel" any different after being married. Although it'll be strange/hard to get used to saying "my wife" instead of "my girlfriend." Was that easy for you other guys?

I dont know why, but when i read this, the first thing that popped into my head was 'scary movie 2', where the girl is trying to distract the guy in the wheelchair and give him some head, and hes like "HEY! i can do it MYSELF". lol. sorry...
I just wanted to add that I don't "feel" any different after being married. Although it'll be strange/hard to get used to saying "my wife" instead of "my girlfriend." Was that easy for you other guys

BlackElantraGT
08-16-2006, 12:54 PM
I've been married for a little more than a year and every now and then I still mistakenly refer her as my gf, instead of wife.
I don't think it feels different after you're married, especially if you've been with that person for a very long time already. You'll feel married long before you actually do tie the knot.
For me the different part would be living together for the first time. Also because I don't have the same freedom as when I was single, I don't go out as often with my friends and if that's the same case with you, eventually you'll notice yourself being left out of the group more and more often and you'll be hanging out more with other couples instead.
evan938
08-16-2006, 12:59 PM
lol...so true...it felt so wierd when i met my g/f a couple months ago, because i swear, within the first month, we had been out to dinner or some other social event probably 2-3 times...it was wierd because i had never went out like that, but it was like, me and her, her parents, and some friends of the family who were married, and we went to those peoples house for drinks...i was like...whoa...is this what adults do on the weekend?
lol..i know...wierd story, but being that ive been single for so long, its new to me, so it struck me as odd at first

You better scrap that crap off ASAP. When Erika and I got married they did it to us right before we left on our Honeymoon, it baked on there for 2 weeks. It was a pain in the *** to scrap off.
Even worse, they put plastic banners on the antenna that melted onto the car while we were gone. We had to get special liquid that wouldn't hurt the paint, but would dissolve the plastic. Good times...

robs02elantra
08-18-2006, 01:27 AM
we'll try!!
congrats again. And on the whole "different feeling" it is inevitable. It is all how you play it though. Don't let it bother you and keep trying to hang out with people, they will understand eventually...and might even get married and hang out with you normally again in groups as couples. Somehow, all of our friends got married this summer, we only had one year of strangeness.
Anyway, it doesn't really matter in the end, if you're married for the right reasons, then it's ok because she will be a great friend to you as well as a spouse. Good luck with all of that, I hope that you have a long and very happy marriage!

As requested and promised. First two of the Hokey Pokey. Damn I'm cool. Third picture of the "scrape." A dance my wife made up after hearing me listen to E-40 yell "SCRAPE!" in his song Ghost Ride the Whip song. The scrape action is like scraping ice off of a windshield. She's a special gal. Fourth picture is the view from the spot. It overlooked the Potomac river into DC where you can see the Lincoln Monument, the Washington Monument, and the Capital behind it. The bright lights from behind it are from RFK Stadium where the Nats play.
