Well I am at my final destination, due to OPSEC (OPerational SECurity) I cant tell you just where it is, but rest assured im high up in the mountians living in a tent somewhere. There are some ammenities here like a shower, satellite TV and of course telecommunications. We have no fresh food for the next 6 months, so I am living off IMP/ration packs, anyone who has ever experienced these can feel my pain. It is still 50+ degrees celcius in the day time, and it cools off down to about 25 at night. Its pitch black here at nightwith a ton of stars that seem like you can reach out and grab, but you cant. I have to wash my clothes by hand in a metal tub with a wash board and soapy water. We have caught scorpions and camel spiders so far and made them fight each other, thats good for a few minutes get-away! There are vipers around here too but havent been able to find one, though today when I woke up there was a large wolf spider living inside one of my boots, lol.
Dont get jealous of my situation just yet there are some downfalls to every resort, this one just happens to be frequent mortar and rocket attacks, they tend to be very loud but very innefective. All in all things are good here, I am spending my time working on the intake manifold I took over here with me, reading some books or sleeping because you dont know when or how long your next nap will be. When that sun hits the tent at 0700 its at full temperature and you just cant sleep anymore, so its time to get up and do whatever it is you do in the desert. I cant wait to return and FINALLY turbo a vehicle, I hoped it would be with my XD but I needed a change. Talk to you all soon!

ok you found me out im in southern afghanistan, somewhere in the mountains in an area about the size of Alberta...I was having a nap yesterday after a long patrol and was awaken to the sound of the .50 cal firing off into the distance, man what a humbling sound that is. Was on the phone with my wife while we were putting in a mortal shoot, she heard it and got all freaked out so I went with it and said "**** honey I gotta go I love you, hug the kids for me!" when I told her I was just joking I thought divorce papers were coming in the mail for me...

I am guessing these are like our MRE's? Some of them are not too bad.

Stay safe over there, again I can't wait to see what you have in-store for the tibby when you get back.

yep MREs, no I agree they arent bad but becuase of the additives you arent supposed to eat them for very long...but lots of hot sauce always sorts things out.

I used to look forward to the lunch menu because of the choco bar but its to hot for them here and they turn to mush.

They are alot better than the C-rations my dad used to bring home. I keep a few of the MRE's here for emergencies (huricanes, etc.).
