God I love my job!!!

Ok, there was a post about how ppl hate their job ... well I wanna brag about mine and how cool it is!!! :cool:

I'm working at Ubisoft Montreal as a junior artist, right now I'm working on a cool war game for the 360 (can't say more!) and I just got back from one of our happy hours, it was for the openning of our new office in Montreal (1 street away from the current one, we are short of office space so they do what they can! :tongue: )

there was about 500 persons in a warehouse beside the new office, a DJ, free beer and an Alpha version of a Wii game that will be a launch title ... unfortunately I can't show you the game or say what it is ... I can't show you the dev kit it was running on ... but I can show you the guy playing! :D

When I'll come home I'll upload some pictures to show you ...


So, who here have a job that they like with cool advantages and stuff ???

LOL I dunno if anyone has those types of advantages.

I work at Best Buy in Wireless (transfering into GS in 2 wks), as a wireless BB employee:

I get a free Verizon phone (A-950) with an unlimited (nights, texts, internet, etc) plan for $5/a month.
Our discount is 5% above warehouse prices. (ex. In car audio, things are marked up about 300-400% of what BB pays for. For car audio, we only pay about 30% of the price cstomers pay.)

Yea, lol. My discount doesnt kick in til next week, but the first thing I plan to buy is this $500 Viper alarm system. With my discount, it brings it down to less than $200 installed.

I can't show you pictures of the Wii dev kit (I don't want to lose my job!!!), if you search the interweb you will find pictures of a Wii dev kit ... I really don't know where it comes from but it's not the dev kit we receved ...

the ones we have are quite bigger and don't have a Wii look at all! the DVD drive is like a regular PC drive and it's maybe double the size of a retail Wii, though the dev kit is a lot smaller then the PS3 ones! ;)

It's weird at first, I don't know about other games but we use the motion sensor to aim, so basically you can move the reticule in nearly all the screen without moving your view (the aiming dot is not stuck in the center of the screen) so it's very weird at first ...

But it give you a more realistic feeling, quite cool when you start to get use to it! The power of the Wii is a little disapointing, is a little less powerfull then the first Xbox, but at the price it will be launched we can't complain! (launch price is to be near 175 USD)

That would be fun, but all Rayman games are made at the head office in France ... plus last time someone tried to hide something in the game he lost his job ... (picture of a naked porn star ... a user found it and posted images on the internet) :tongue:

yeah I know ... there is a lot of females over here but nearly all of them work in the administration area ...
