I didn't feel like this would be appropriate for the suspension category but, I just put a downpayment on a set of these.

I almost regret selling my Quest coilovers and miss the handling of them. I assume these will be a hundred times better!!....or more. :) This, along with my rear slotted/crossdrilled disc conversion, tiburon slotted/crossdrilled fronts, Yaya suspension bushings and motor mounts, will get me even closer to the boost that I crave!! Now to find an 03 Tiburon GT front sway bar. I just feel like sharing since I don't post much. There's so much to read on this forum I almost don't find the time to post......useful information

I have these...you'll LOVE them :)

If you need any help setting them up PM J-Son, myself, 2loud2k2xd, Swortham, Only1db (teins)......

There are a few of us either running Ksports or other kinds of coilovers.

I'm envious ;) they look amazing! I can't even imagine how nice they'll feel in your ride. If I had the money, I'd do up my suspension big time.

lol I thought this thread was about him paying his car loan off soon too

those coilovers look nice. I definitely like the orange and black better than the green and black of the Tein. I've been waiting to get Teins in forever, but I hate the fact they charge so much for the Tib application when it's only their basic super street coilovers. Some of the Type FLEX coilovers are even cheaper, and they're better than the SS. Tein does have the new EDFC that just came out though. I'm wondering if that will fit without having to use hood spacers now because the step motor is supposed to be smaller.

How's the ride quality on these LateAPXR? I'm sure anything's better than my worn out stock suspension.

why a front sway bar??? our front is just about perfect for any application...whatever else can be done with the coils...or adjusting the rear bar...hence why whiteline only makes a rear sway bar...

no to mention alignment settings.

i'm still waiting on my teins to come back from being serviced...its been since april! speaking of which...let me call them.

not to mention that a larger front sway bar would increase understeer and reduce oversteer. so basically you'd be partially negating the reason for even buying the larger rear sway bar.

i'm running ksports, rear strut bar, progress adjustable 20-22mm (set at 22mm) rear sway bar and unfortunatly stock michelin allseasons.

i've even considered swapping a GLS front sway bar in because it's like a millimeter less in diameter...but thought better considering how nearly impossible it is to swap out the front bar.

there's just TOO MUCH junk to snake the front bar through (engine, subframe, steering rack, ect). Swapping the rear bar is PITA enough with the exhaust being there...I can't imagine doing the front.

Tighten up that rear end as much as possible and TUNE FOR OVERSTEER. You won't necessarily have an excess of oversteer...think of it as reducing understeer instead. The car WILL perform better :)

Want to trade? lol I guess the sedan handles very different than the HB. I have the Progress set at 20mm? (the softer setting) and have plenty of oversteer. I can, at command, put the rear into a slide at this setting.

Anyways, why would I want to take away or reduce anything? Why not just increase until you're content.

There are advantages and disadvantages to upgrading your front sway bar on a FWD car. It's not completely accurate to say it'll increase understeer. That's because there are 3 elements to a car's handling balance through a corner: corner entry, midcorner, and corner exit. The truth is that you will reduce bodyroll and therefore combat the camber challenged front suspension. So it will give you more front-end grip in steady-state corners (decreasing midcorner understeer).

However, with a stiff front sway bar, you will be increasing understeer during initial turn-in, and reducing the front tires' ability to pull you out of a corner exit.

To upgrade or not to upgrade is a weighted question. In racing applications, I'd tend to say that upgrading your front sway bar would be good for high speed racing when there are long sweepers. But it would be bad for autocrossing where there are so many slow corners.

By the way, my brother upgraded his front & rear sway bars on his Mazda 6s and his car understeers of course, but overall it handles beautifully and is incredibly responsive. And then my roommate took a very different approach and downgraded his front sway bar on his Acura RSX Type-S. He likes the way the car pulls out of corners now, but dislikes the sloppy nature through certain transitions. Which approach works better depends on the car and the driver.
