Im looking to turbo my 01 elantra and need some help. Im looking at Garrett T3 turbos but i dont know what A/R i need. Im looking for power from 250-300 hp.
Parts I think i need.
Tigerlily 8.5:1 cast aluminum low compression pistons $350
Turbo Manifold $120
Tigerlily 350cc injectors $500
Apex.I S-AFC $300
Intercooler?? Suggestions welcome
Not sure what else i need, fuel rails, etc?
Also would a MSD Distributorless Ignition be a good cheap power upgrade?
These are suggestions if you are going to do it on a budget, and can fab stuff up
IC - http://www.turbomustangs.com/redirects/kb.htm
Click here then scroll down to the Turbomustangs intercooler archive, the 17th on the list.
Mk4 Supra for a sidemount, Isuzu NPR for a front mount
For a turbo i would suggest a .60/.63 or .60/.48 depending on tranny. These would be off of late 80 early 90's fords.
These are only suggestions, and would help you save some money if you knew some people, and these things pop up on ebay all the time. You can also check out www.turboford.org for turbos.

I did some reading and found out that the AT can only handle up to around 200whp so i might have to go smaller.
If all i want is around 80whp do u think i could get away with not using a intercooler?
And are the stock fuel injectors sufficient for that amount of power?
I read somewhere that 290cc injectors off a sonata will fit our engine if that is the case those might be the way to go since they are under $400 while the 350cc ones are $500.
I was thinking of starting out with-
MSD Digital DIS-2
Apex.I S-AFC II
Exaust that will handle 200whp
Suggestions on the exaust appreciated.

You could drop to a .42/.48 T3, and if you are only wanting 80 hp i think that you would be okay w/o an IC.
or:
get a inline transmission cooler and level ten that ***** with a highstall and push 22lbs of boost. Why anyone would want a small boost application from a completely custom turbo is beyond me.
shawn :)

if you're getting pistons, I wouldnt waste your time with cast pistons
