Ok my wife has the option for the lights that when you shut the car off they turn off. So she leaves them on, day time or night time.
So we just started to notice in the center dash where the directional dial is, air to the feet, or dash or defrost, is and the A/C back light, and the FM button on the radio do not have the "back light' like the other buttons do. Now I know they had it before. So it looks like they burned out.
My question is: How hard are they to fix? I called the dealer & they said if the car is over the 12K 1- year anything happens we fix it warranty, there could be a charge for bulbs. They are not covered after that, & the car is over that warranty. 30K on it. It is an 05. Now he said if the bulb is part of the component, or dial, then it should be covered but they won't know till they take the dash apart.
Any one take the dash apart & see if they are bulbs or LED's?

I thought all cars have the option to leave the light on?? I dunno but some of my dash lights have burnt out as well. Some may be easy to get to but you might need to know how to solder them. Ilan will be able to help you best since he has experience changing the bulbs.

Ignore this post. Didn't read the original post properly regarding warranty. :(

The HVAC controls have lights on the back of the panel with a plastic base that can be replaced. I think I paid somewhere along the lines of $8 for one. Yes, they are expensive. As for the radio? I don't know.

Is that covered under the normal warranty? I've NEVER had to replace lights like that before in a car. Sure I have had bulbs burn out, headlights & brake lights, there easy to replace but never something like the back lights. Let alone in a 1 year old car.

i thought the lights that they put bedind clusters and things like that where of the really long lasting type...

i would probably suggest that if the entire section of those lights are not working.. then it would be a fault somewhere / the back lights arnt getting the power...

I got an old Fairlane in the garage that is approching 20years young, and i have NEVER heard of anyone having to replace any of the lights in these things ever..

I had the middle light expire on my HVAC panel. I didn't "warranty" it. Just bought another one and replaced it. Funny thing is, within a week or so, I noticed another light had gone out and I just gave the panel a swift pop with my fist and it lighted back up and hasn't failed since. Hmmmm.

Ya I don't get it. I don't have real mods done to the car. No stereo system or anything. Nothing that should be taking power from it.
