I was just curious how I would go about converting my 2004 MAF sensor into a MAP sensor. I know I need to buy a MAP sensor somewhere but I have no idea which one to get, so I could use some advice. Also where to hook it up to, like do I need to splice in a T connector into the PCV system and hook it up there, etc. Also I heard that a 1 bar, 2 bar, and 3 bar MAP sensors will all put out the same voltage range, so how would u deal with that? The reason why I wanted to convert was so it would be easier for a turbo setup. Any help is greatly appreatiated! Thanks

The easiest way would be to sell your car and buy an '03

MAF sensors for under 250 WHP that our's is rated at work BETTER then just MAP sensors

because the computer knows exactly how much air in comming in, and using a basic formula can calc out the fuel to get 14.7 ratio... and it has the 02 sensors to double check, and if it is wrong, it adjusts ...

must more accurate then the MAP sensors that is why most newer cars are using MAF

and if you are going above 250 WHP, then you would know how to change your MAF to a MAP anyway hehe

p.s. on a side note, the isuzu 3.2 and 3.5 L engines use BOTH and i used the alpine super charger kit on my isuzu and didnt even need the uni chip... :)

I have a friend that tried this on a Camaro, and was never able to make it work. He bought the ECU, and all of the parts needed, and even with his extensive background in ECU re-programming, the project never got finished. He decided to scrap the whole idea and stay with the MAF system. So, JoshK is right, just buy an 03.

very good point made, the older Tib "boosted club" were running into issues over that limit.

There is a company called " split second " that makes a maf to map converter box... its very simple and easy to setup...

find their website online... i think its splitsec.com or something :) good luck !
