tranny fluid drain/refill or flush at 30K?

As my 2005 GLS approaches 25K, im thinking of trans. service a bit
early. My dealer recommends and does drain and refill at 30K, not flush.
They say a full flush is not really necessary at 30K and recommend it at
60K.
What does you dealer do at 30K??

I talked to my service manager about hyundai autos dieing right at or after 100k. He said the cars that he knew flushed every 30k didn't have that problem later. I dont own an auto so its not like he was going to get me to spend money on that. Id say its worth it if you want to keep the car.

The reason why they die out is a lot of crap is retained without the flush. Having CLEAN fluid, they will last a long time.

On mine, in addition to the regular flushes, I have added an external cooler filter, which keeps crap out of the transmission. This filter is replaced at every flush.

I went to the dealer recently as well. my 05 GLS is nearing 30K and I was inquiring about the 30K service. they charge about $400. I was like pfff no. I can do everything except the tranny flush; which they charge $100ish for.

I was chatting it up with one of the techs there and he pretty much said, the real key to keeping these cars running in the long run are regular oil chages and tranny flushes. I suppose that goes for any car, but I'm going to heed the warning and go ahead and do those flushes.

he also told me that flushing the coolant system isnt done at 30k, only drain an refill. I'm not sure if/when you flush the coolant sys.

According to my 'Factory recommended maintenance schedule" booklet MY 2001-2006:
Replace Automatic Transaxle Fluid every 84 months/168,000kms (100,000 miles)**
**For normal (ideal) usage conditions. For severe usage replace fluid every 24 months/48,000 kms (29,000 miles)
Replace engine coolant every 24 months/48,000 kms

I did a drain and fill on mine @ 30k, but 95% of my driving is easy highway, and I also have a cooler and filter. I will do a flush @ 60k.
I drained and refilled the coolant @ 20,000 miles (1 year for me).
