...probably putting a huge ricey 5" tach w/ a cool 'shift light' on the dash
apparently most ricer cars need 2 tachs

YEha man iam wondering the same thing. i have an air/fuel guage i just got but not sure how to install it. all i know is that there are a positive and negitive wire, then another wire that you have to hook up to your 02 sensor to get the readings. if u get it done let me know, good luck

I am adding a second tach because my computer is reprogrammed and redlines at 8000 rpm. My stock tach only goes to 7000.
and no it is not one of the huge tachs with a shift light

your computer is reprogrammed to 8k? really? who did that for you? and what do you have done to your valvetrain to allow it to rev that high?

Just for once how about staying on topic and either answering this guys question if you can, or leaving it alone if you can't. Again with the sarcasm and assuming someone who you don't know from Adam knows less about cars than you do... maybe wait until you know more about this guy... if I had just had to replace my engine due to a DIY gone wrong I might be a little more humble with my responses.

if you want to get technical, im not the one who messed up the cam gear install.
as for what i said, how does asking him what he has done to his valvetrain to allow his redline to be at 8k relate to my car having issues from someone else installing a cam gear?
ive seen maybe 3-4 people come on here that actually have head/valvetrain work done to their engine, and the first post this guy comes on asking how to wire up a tach for his 'raised redline'...im sure if he has the knowledge to build his motor up and what to have done to it, he shouldnt have a problem hooking up a tachometer.

I don't want to get technical... you know full well that my response has nothing to do with the technicalities here. I'm sick of the attitude that you know everything there is to know about cars and anyone with less knowledge than you is automatically a total moron.
READ THIS THREAD and READ YOUR SARCASM.
Once again we have a club noob (not neccesarily a car noob) who asks a question and you start right in with a sarcastic response so that this guy either gets a bad impression of this site as a whole or dosn't bother to ever return here thinking we are all like you.
Keep it on topic, treat others with respect until you have read enough of their garbage to know that they no longer deserve your resect. If you have nothing constructive to say... please say nothing.

you know, maybe you shouldnt single me out...maybe i should point out the other responses in this thread, both which were said sarcastically

or how about this one...

but instead of seeing the whole picture, once again, you single me out. my second post was a serious question. being that no one in the US has been able to figure out the hyundai/siemens ECU to tune it, and not many people in korea have done it, i have a VERY hard time believing that 17 y/o johnny doe from florida has either a) built the motor to withstand high revving and b) found a shop that was able to reprogram his ECU to have that capability...thats what the 'i smell BS' was about. its ok though...keep singling me out. im used to it at this point

I think I'm wasting my breath here... but at least I know I am not the only one who is unhappy about this.
I did not read hyunelan2 post as sarcasm. Maybe it was, but it could equally have been a serious question. And the next guy was obviously following your lead.
Perhaps you are right about this guy and his 8k redline response... or perhaps he was just responding agressively to your sarcasm? Your response could also have been read as just serious questions except for the "Really?" and "I smell bs" remarks. Just who do you think you are trying to kid..?
You know... maybe this guys is setting his car up just for drag racing in which case why is a big tach with a change light such a crazy idea?
I don't assume someone else is an idiot until they give me good reason to.
can you guys do this in a pm please...this doesn't make us look any better... don't bother.. I've said all I am going to on this matter.

so...if i post something that could be taken as sarcasm, it automatically is, but when someone else posts something that could be taken as sarcasm, it could be serious
