Doin the plugs and wires tomorrow, the muffler will either be friday, Monday the lastest. will post pics and Sound clips immediately after its installed! Where is a good website or store to get a tip to weld on? Pepboys has crappy bolt on tips, i want a simple shinny tip. any suggestions?

youd probably be best unbolting at the flange (over the rear 'axle') and getting a new flange + pipe made...that way you can sell the axle-back part to someone who just wants sound, and it will bolt up to the OEM exhaust

but its 2 1/4" not 1.75" thats y i was gonna cut it off.

flange will still fit the same from stock to aftermarket...get a 2.25" pipe/flange put in from the axle back

Im having a friend do this for me, he doesnt have a mandrel bender. im trying to make this cost effective. i dont mind selling the muffler cheap. its not gonna cost me a thing to have this installed if all he does is cut off the old one and weld the new one on. if i was having a muffler shop do it, it would be done your way. how much you think it would be for a shop to do it the way you suggest?

why do you need a tip... leave it sleeper

i had a muffler welded on and a pipe bent to get it to fit for 50$...i would think 75$ max...you could probably sell the axleback for 100$

i need something... as of right now i have nothing, so it will come out behind the bumper.... it would be easier to put a tip on then to have a 90 Degree bend on. plus i like the look of a shinny tip. o and plus with no cats its impossible to be a sleeper! :abovelol:

Arun I've always thought that you have one of the better sounding exhaust systems on here. How come you want to change it?

Since you put it like that, I wont. LOL I guess its just curiosity to wonder what it will sound like. I prolly wont change it at all, because I like not having header rattle, and tons of interior resonance.

Just changed the Plugs and wires. The plugs i pulled were NGK R spark plugs, i wonder when the last owner changed them. anyway the gaskets on the wires were shot so i did need it. here are the pics.

I like the way it looks like w/o it on, but I left mine on to prevent any corrosion from getting to anything under there.

i tried puttingit on (didnt try too hard) and it didnt want to fit. the 8.5mm wires are hard to stuff in there. they dont really fit in the clips and they get in the way of the screws to mount the cover. I'll try again when the rain stops.

your lucky you have the option to keep it on or off, if I take my cover off my spark plug wire will pop up causing the car to misfire.

I had the same wires he had but to me they are a POS because one of them broke on me. But NY already knows that it happened to me. Anyway, I had the same problem to at first so I just unplugged it and re-plugged it on one. when I did the other, snap, it broke!!
