Since our BETA2 block is very similar to the old mitsu blocks, has anyone checked to see if the oil pans are interchangeable? If they are...well think about the possibilities!

(especially the 4g63T pans with the turbo return line...)

Moroso is a popular aftermarket hi-per parts maufacturerer. Mostly for ford, chevy and chrysler. Alot of these outfits are starting to get into imports..

whatever. alcohol in the system now. all better :)

So yeah. I posted thinking outloud because of the moroso because there are built in flanges for turbo oil drains and stuff and 4g63Ts have oil drains built into the pan stock...and if i can bolt up a pan that will work, is more safe than drilling a hole and tapping it etc etc.

why dont they work, we use the beta2 pan on our beta 1's since there aluminum stock. so if we can do the swap, why cant you?

I said I read something, lol.

not sure.

it's about those two long bolts on the (tranny) side of the pan... mayeb it works for you guys but the opposite is not true?

well our beta1's have a stamped steal oil pan, then an aluminum brace that is bolted to the trans instead of how the beta2 has all that as one piece. so if u wanted a beta1 set up, u would also need that aluminum brace, thats the only thing i see as a problem.

i dunno why you would really want a beta1 pan though, maybe for boosted applications since it would be better to tap for an oil return, but thats about it.

It wouldnt be sooo bad cept i can never hold the danm tap strait!!!! That's it im gonna invent something that makes sure you tap strait and then sell it for a million bux!!!!!!
Then tapping 1/16" aluminum would be easy as pie!!!!!
tapping 1/4" would be easyer than kicking a 2 year old in the face!!!!!!
IM GONNA BE RICH!!!!!!
