I just had a thought...
What if we made our own Wiki section in the forum to compliment / replace the DIY section?
We could have Wiki pages on everything from information on CAI, Turbos, to even oil changes and personal pages!
That way when a noob tries to ask a question, they can Wiki it first and hopefully find the answer before asking that question! If you try to search the forumns on a topic that has been widely discussed, it is difficult to find the answer quickly (if you know what I mean). Searching is time consuming and takes intensive effort. You usually find discussions and bickering, but there is no "Accepted Answer" like you see in the Expert's Exchange (http://www.experts-exchange.com/) website.
Here is a sample page http://www.experts-exchange.com/Web/Web_Servers/IIS/Q_20765534.html
What does everyone think?

If there is something that you feel particularly excited about creating that is similar to the "All Bodykits," or "Accord CAI," or "Suspension Info" threads then simply compile the information and create a thread about it, ask for a sticky and chances are if it's good then we'll make it happen.
We could make a Wikipedia entry for everything and then we wouldn't need EXD. And that would make all the time we've put into EXD worthless. That's what I think.

You can start a Wiki without using Wikipedia. In other words, a Wiki section could be added to this site covering the main topics categorically. You could do that with MediaWiki (http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki) for free.
It wouldn't make the forum useless because you can't replace the power of discussion. But there are other considerations. Wiki's require their own moderation, for example. And with the Wiki, there would then be 2 places to search for information, on the Wiki and on the forum.
But at the same time, Wiki's have some huge advantages. The users tend to build them up to the point where a given topic is explained clearly and completely. That's something that forums in general can't quite compete with.

I personally think it would be a good idea to do it out on Wikipedia. I think we should put our forum preferences aside and make it a group project. EXD, EClub, Hyundai-Forums, Edmunds, etc., could all contribute. Of course, the first step would be a links page to all contributing forums.
Hell... I may even start that.

to hell wikipedia ... it's full of biased and unveryfied informations ...
If a wiki is to be build, it must be moderated closely and the modifications must be approved by competent peoples, not just the average user that passes by ...
But sometimes its the moderate passerby that happens to know of some "old idea" or new method that no one knows about yet or something that can work and change. Thats the beauty of a wiki, EVERYONE can voice thier thoughts, not just the big people.
