Woo Hoo! my first post.

I have just hit 60,000 miles on my '01 Elantra and I am going to get the timing belt and water pump changed.

I was wondering if anyone knows how long the camshaft and crankshaft seals lasted on their Elantra's until they started leaking... If they commonly last until 120,000 or more then there isn't any point in changing them now.

i haven't ever heard of anyone's seals going on them... i'm at 90k right now. I think sean is close to 100k and hes pulling his motor now to rebuild it for his turbo project. you're fine. don't worry about them.

heard of someone with a kia with pretty much the same beta engine in it killing a timing belt at 86k but that 26k over due... do the drive belts and the timing belt some where in the 60k area and youll have nothing to worry about
