Yeah, another "rest" thread... I can't seem to adjust my head rests. I push down the button and try and adjust it and it won't even budge.. it's like someone glued the damn things in there. Could they have been damaged by the previous owner? Who knows.

sounds like it. the metal rods could be warped, preventing them from moving.

You know you push the button "in" not "down"? Just making sure you're doing that right.

They should lift up (and out) without needing to push that button in. If they don't even lift up then something's FUBARed. Stick a board or something in between the headrest and seat and see if you can pry it up.
Can you take some pics???

Yeah, I'll take some pics after I install my SRI tonight. I'll try to get them out. How do you get them out without pushing the button in though?

uhm.. u have to push the button in unless its broke... i dont even mess with mine... i took the back ones out and they are around my garage somewhere lol.. i left the front ones in, but i pushed them all the way down...just put ur hand in between the seat and the headrest (palm of ur hand facing the roof), then push the button in, and PULL HARD with hand thats in between the seat and headrest... it should work, and i hope u understood this...

i put my back headrests on my front seats for a bit of a sportier look, left the other ones out. (thanks for the tip, andy)
when you pull up on them, there shouldn't be any resistance on the lock at the base. only when you try and push it down. i'd do what they said and take something big, like a 2x4 and pry the suckas out.

Yeah I know what you mean, I tried that a few times... I'll give it a good go after my SRI install tonight. I'll take pics and post here too :)

Mine just lift out. The button prevents them from going down. AFAIK, I don't need to push the button to take it all the way out... I know some cars you need to, or they have this slot that you need to insert a key to release it.

What year is yours? The spacing between the metal rods on the front and rear headrests are different on my 04, so you can't swap front to back or back to front.

Hmmm.... I like the idea of bringing the back headrests up... I think I'll do that soon, and see if I like the feel of it... If not, I'm at least going to take out the back ones all together... A nice lil mod and it doesn't even cost anything lol....
