I stopped by Ollie's bargain outlet on a whim today (No idea why I did, I just got an urge...usually they have some rice products like excruciatingly large exhaust tips and the license plate frame that "Absorbs" laser...but anyways...) and there, in the automotive section, they had LED strips. Red and Blue, $8 for a pair of 15" strips and $5 for a pair of ten inch strips. I bought one of each of these, since I've wanted to do this to my car ever since I got it. I'm going to put the 15s in the front footwells, but I'm uncertain where to put the 10." Possibly extra trunk lighting instead of the stock trunk light or the 15" neon tube I dug up to put there? Not sure yet...thoughts?

I don't have LED's, I have neons, but I love the way it looks under the footwells. Check my gallery for pics of mine, there's a link in my signature.
As for the others, that wouldn't be a bad idea for extra trunk lighting, but only if there's something to light up, like a killer sound system or something. If you're hauling groceries, it would be a waste of lighting.

nothing in the trunk yet. I'm not bothering with a sound system...too much money and too much weight for a poor college student like myself to lug around.
I'm planning on building a small tool box to take keep my junk from flying around...sometime...
So i have two extra strips to use...where to go with them?

Under the back seat? Under the hood in a place they wont melt or get wet? Or maybe on the sides of the roof for interior lighting. I guess it just depends on what looks good to you.

I had a couple of 8" neon tubes in the in the footwells all hooked up to a switch which I placed in one of the blanks on the driver side. Looked cool enough but I took them out with the intentions of getting blacklights and putting those in but never did. I would probably use the 10 in the trunk seeing as it pretty poorly lit to begin with.

I've been wanting to do my interior lighting for awhile... I'm wanting to do something new, so therefore, I don't want to give you my ideas... Good luck though, those were kinda a nice find, pretty cheap...

Well, I've installed the first set, the pair of 10" strips...I put them in my trunk, just under the trunk lip...They look like they give pretty good illumination, so as soo nas it gets darker, I may try to get some pics...

If you want some of them, let me know...Ollies had a bunch and it shouldn't cost too much to ship them to pittsburgh area...

I have been playing with LED's For a under water fishing light Green but in the process have come to love these things lol if you want to make your own custom led light setup or replace stock int. lights with led it would be pretty simple just need some leds and resistors both of witch can be found pretty cheap in bulk on ebay
standard combo 1 led 3-3.6v 1 resistor 1/4watt 510 ohm for 12v app.
