I'm interested to see pics. Most people say that the dual setup isn't "worth it" performance wise, but I don't know. I bet it looks cool. Where is the split from 1 pipe to 2 pipes at? Also, did you cut your bumper to raise up the pipes in the back?

if you get a chance do a dyno, i'm interested in seeing if you are getting better performance, worse or the same?

there would be no performance gain at all, but if done right, there wont be a lose either. but looks are just as important to me. lol. it gotz to look pretty

Can't wait to see pics. It does suck if you don't get any gain but hell.....at least it looks great....lol!

The performance can be better than stock, but not better than an aftermarket single exhaust. (Just to clarify...)

depends on the pipe size from before the Y... if you get 2 and a 1/4 all the way back to the y and then get maybe 1 1/4 for the 2 pipes you might get some gains... people make the mistake most times of getting both the pipes off the Y done the same size as the main which will kill back pressure...which will kill torque. When i had my dual it was setup with a smaller pipe for the two ends and a 2 and 1/4 for the main and i saw gains both low end and top end. Oh and i had no mufflers just pipes..... it wasnt to loud either

Txdproject that is exactly what i have and i do see gains, but my is loud so im gonna see if i can get a video tonight

would the GK 4cyl. tib dual exhaust fit the XD2? even with a little tweaking? Just something Ive been wondering.

I think so but it wouldnt look right with the tibs being huge, thats just my opinion

So did you dyno it? If not then you didn't see any gains. You may feel it but a butt-dyno is not good enough because on top of that there is like the placebo effect. Just because you made a mod you might think the car is peppier. But you won't know till you do a dyno.

Afriend of mine once turned her single to dual in her Accord. It was a big improvement because she did make the pipes after the y smaller.

So you got that going for you. Just have to see what the actual gains are which we probably won't ever know since there is no "before" dyno...

I would like to see the underside of the car and how it is routed. I thought about doing this, but haven't had some idea how the pipes are routed.

if only concepto was still in existance. I'd get the kit and do the dual exhaust if there was no loss in power!

if nitrousworld didn't go down then i'd quote ronniesan's pictures of his dual exhaust setup but sadly its gone.

OPZ
11-05-2006, 03:21 PM
I remember ronniesans, but im just eager to see how this is done so I can get mine done, if that is what I decide on. Its either full on exhaust from the cat back, or this dual setup...

OPZ
11-05-2006, 05:30 PM
I belive him, it HAS been done before, by ronniesan, but he had to get it done like 4 times. Black apparently got it after once, and im just really curious and eager to see how he did his.

well here's the pic, well what yall think

OPZ
11-18-2006, 01:09 AM
Honestly its not bad. If I do mine, im going to do them like that, but put the tips so thier more on the outside of the car, and tucked back in a little bit more.

Any underside pics? Sound clip? Opinions on power?

Cypher
11-18-2006, 01:12 AM
in my opinion i think i'd like it more if they were spread out some more. i'll tell you how it sounds on sunday opz lol

OPZ
11-18-2006, 01:37 AM
Take a vid clip and as many pics as you can. Haha, and yea, thats what I ment, spread em more.

The exhaust. Not you.

looks good started to not believe u for a second.

jayupark
11-18-2006, 02:18 PM
your car is clean. Can you tuck the tips a bit higher? Maybe cut the bumper a bit? Just a suggestion. I think it would look alot better if you had the tips tucked away a bit (not sticking out), and maybe a bit further apart..

Good work though.

NY2002ElantraGT
11-18-2006, 02:25 PM
i would spread them, have the tips stick out less, do a bumper cut out to tuck them in. IMO

how bout video clip to hear, and some shots underneath, wanna see how you how the pipes are run.

Blackcasper2005
11-18-2006, 07:37 PM

11-23-2006, 05:57 PM
Unless it's just the video? I don't know. I just don't like loud exhaust in general :) I'm happy you don't get pissed like 400% of the people on here when I give y opinion

importdriver05
11-23-2006, 07:22 PM
atleast you have an original idea, looks good!

BIGROB
11-23-2006, 08:22 PM
it does look good, i give u that. sounds a little "different" perse', and lookin back at the pics id say if u got a nice little bumper cutout, cut about an inch or too off the pipes and moved the tips back then tucked the tips a little bit, it would be golden... dont take this the wrong way, it kinda reminds me of a SRT-4....

Blackcasper2005
11-23-2006, 11:23 PM
thats kinda where i got the idea from but like i said i wanted something different, it kinda sounds like a srt-4 without the turbo

OPZ
11-30-2006, 03:21 AM
I kinda like how it sounds, but i'd prefer if it was a lil deeper. Thats cool though, im ganna see if a shop around here can do it. Any pics of the underside?

Blackcasper2005
11-30-2006, 09:30 AM

seraphim
11-30-2006, 11:24 AM
all I want to know is how is it on gas is there any difference

Blackcasper2005
11-30-2006, 10:58 PM
actually i have no idea, lets see i drive about a 100 miles a day and use half of a quarter of a tank a day

ExemptedNut
12-01-2006, 12:09 AM
I think it looks pretty decent, doesn't sound 'bad' in my opinion but I would like to her an outside of the car sound clip....
and is it just me or does it look like the driver's side tip is sticking out just slightly further than the passengers side

P.S, I think we have the same tires

Blackcasper2005
12-01-2006, 09:08 AM
if we have the same tires these tires suck imo but i think its just the pic cause there even

Freddy Krueger
01-05-2007, 09:40 PM
oops!

:( I did'nt heard the clip you made but i saw the picture and i'm sorry to say this but it's way to ricer to my taste. :smileyr: If it had been more under the bumper with less visible pipe, it would have been great. That's my opinion!

No hard feeling!
