Ok so when I got the C/F hood from Fordfasterr it didn't really look as nice as I made it seem lol. The clear coat was really bad on it. Well here are some pics so you can see..
Before:

http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h246/daillestwun/hood6-1.jpg
http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h246/daillestwun/hood8-1.jpg
So I decided to do some sanding...
http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h246/daillestwun/hood5-1.jpg
http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h246/daillestwun/hood4-1.jpg
http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h246/daillestwun/hood3-1.jpg
And ended up with this after some clear coat...

Now it no way looks perfect or professional but at least I got it to look more black rather than all foggy. I just did this to hold me up till I get it professionally cleared at a body shop...

Well it looks a littlwe better in the pics. When seen in person you can tell it was done by an unprofessional. But it beats the way it used to look...

well done indeed!!
you really should get it re-cleared as soon as you can though. once the clear is compromised the UV can start attacking the resins used for the gel coat in the hood and once it gets down to the resin used in the fabric its pretty much all over for the hood

Thanks for tip Carbonman. I'm hoping to do it within the next month or so. How much do you guys think it would cost to get it re-cleared. I don't think very much.

That does look much better ... nice job. You obviously put some elbow grease into that project. Will be nice to see the pictures when you have it done professionally. Your car is looking very good!
The picture with the shadows from your hands and camera remind me of that video I saw online with the guy doing the monkeys having sex. Monkey love (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Veqv0xO5nMc) This might have been posted before, but it's just so people know what I mean.

Looks pretty damn good to me. I'd do what Craig says though, since he knows best on this subject.

The clear you put on it should seal it up long enough for it to withstand 6 months to a year out in the open depending if you wax it and what kind of clear was used. A lacquer based paint won't last that long, but enamels will.
I generally charge 500 bucks for a panel repaint. This is sealed, with an adhesion promoter (which would require different chemicals with any kind of plastic).

Umm not really. I knew the hood was in this condition obviousely since Ford is a good friend of mine. And I still have my stock hood at home so I can always do the switcharoo should something go wrong. And it's not like I payed much for it lol....

Heres another place that sells carbon fiber hoods that are a little cheaper.
Not that much cheaper though.
