ok, what the hell gives. My power steering was squeeling horribly about 3 weeks ago or so (the belt was slipping) so I changed the belt and it went away until now (about 3 weeks after replacing the belt) What gives? Someone mentioned to replace the tensioner and someone else said its my underdrive pulley causing the problem? Any ideas, and yes I searched and came up with a lot of response on something with the steering rack.

The tensioner is the pump itself. The squeeling is either in the power steering belt, or in the alternator/waterpump belt. Check the tension on both.

is the belt glazed?

What do you mean by glazed?

well I noticed last time I replaced the belt the belt and pulley would completely stop spinning if I turned the wheel all the way to the right or left and thats when it would squeel, or it would squeel as soon as i start the car, but the pulley and belt will still spin when starting the car.

And for the belt being glazed, do you mean did I use like an anti squeel spray on it? no

you know worn down and glossy as a result from slipping .

oh, no, I just put this new belt on less than a month ago, has maybe 600-700 miles on that belt, and its still extremely dull and not worn at all.

well I tighted the belt, and alternator belt, and its stopped squeeling only when I start it, it will squeel when I'm turning the wheel but only until the engine gets nice and hot then the squeeling stops

Mine does that too if i start the car and than turn the wheel all the way left or all the way right...

I have had that issue after my UDP.. seems everytime I "fix" it a few weeks or a week later it comes back. I even marked it to make sure the pump wasn't backing off.. Right now it only makes a noise when its cold, im turning, and for about .05 secs after I start moving. Im leaving it where it is for now, lol.

The A/C compressor is on a completely different belt. You need to tighten the power steering belt.

I have tightened it, and tightened it, then tightened it some more lol, its now only squeeling when I turn the wheel when the engine is not all the way warmed up :(

My belt is topped out, and no it's not too tight. It's not glazed and it is new from kspec. Does anybody know if there is a smaller belt that i could use?
