Hey Crew, im halfway through doing my grill, so far its been gutted and most of the black paint is off to show off the chrome ( which was a bad idea i think ) and most of those 'teeth' things are off. What I was wondering was filling in where the 'teeth' bits are, they leave a hole in the side of the grill. Now, is using body filler stuff then sanding and painting a good idea? Im not terribly confident with fiberglass, but would this give the same/similar effect? Thanks guys/gals... especially the gals. :D

I used Photoshop to blacken out the grill. Also, today I got rid of the amber covers in the headlights, for all those who are thinking of doing this... DO IT!! It looks a hell of a lot better, but be patient when doing it cos it takes forever.

Yay! You're the second person in Australia to do it. ;)
Did you get the chrome bulbs too? Take some pics! That was my favourite 'free mod'.
I really want to mod my grill too, where did you pick up the mesh from???

I actually used plastic epoxy to fill the majority of the holes in my grill. It's hell to sand, but it holds well. I then used the body filler to smooth out the edges, and then painted the whole thing. It took a whole lot of time to do it, but in the end, I think it was worth it.

Chrome bulbs? I am under the impression it is illegal to not have amber bulbs as indicators. I picked up the mesh from my local 'Supercheap Auto' store. Cost me about $30 for this huge piece ( I think its like 18" by 48" ).

Thanks, I'll check out supercheap. :)
It is illegal to not have amber bulbs as indicators, I don't recommend it, but www.autolumination.com has chrome coloured amber indicators, which is where I got mine from.

They are the 1156 type.
They have also come out with a half chrome bulb now, which they say is 40% brighter and I'd recommend those because in direct sun, they can be a little hard to see by oncoming traffic.

UPDATE:
I think ill repaint it because I painted the mesh and the grill itself separately and you can see some little bits of glue and the black paint I used wasn't too great. When I get some free time ill do it, I should be studying really, not messing around with my car! :D
Studying? Where are your priorities!? Get modding!

Once you get it finalized and have some new pictures post a thread in the DIY section. Very good. I think it looks great so far.

Does anyone know where I can buy a grill? I just got my car and don't want to mess up the stock grill. PM me or just let me know.

first off, dont forget to add your griles to my custom grille sticky, and secondly, i got a fiberglass one off of ebay, and the company is still using my car for their display car :) unless you are looking for stock, i'd try either ebay or a boneyard...
