Hi everyone, the other day I was driving home as usual when I saw an Elantra XD 1.6 lt... then I though that maybe if thats a beta engine I could use the Cylinder Head of that engine in order to get more compression ratio... of course, if this works im planning some head work as well... now my question is.... Is this head compatible with my block? I have a 2.0 lt XD... Im almost sure that this could work... Also, I think that the transmition of that engine should fit as well in my block right? But the flywheel is the same in both engines? Im thinking that my 2.0 lt with that head and that transmition will be awesome... Any ideas about it?

sorry to burst your bubble dude,
there was a guy on newtiburon.com that wanted to try this the other way around so i did some reaserch and the 1.6's have a differant bore. The only way to know 100% would be to buy a head gasket from each of the motors and compare them. but the bore size is a pretty good indicator that it wont work.
