Hey!

I was curious to know if anyone has added Dynamat insulation to their Elantra. I have an 06 GT and i have some hum i want to get rid of since the car is basically not insulated. Does this work effectively? Is it expensive? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've seen the door panelling go for about $100 Canadian. for their top of the line matting - I can't remember the name of it sorry. I am looking to do my doors when I get new speakers, but I don't know of Dynamat is the best way to go. Anyone?

ill see if i can get quote from around where i live. i just hope it cuts out a good amount of noise. would suck to have it done and not notice a difference.

I spent over 300.00$ to get all my trunk done with the "Extreme Dynamat" it made quite a difference with the rattles caused by my sound system.

I doubt that it would do much for road noises unless everything is covered ... when I drive with the rear seats down, the road noises are really loud, I dont remember how it was before but I can't imagine it being WAY worst that what it is right now.

the v4 from edesign or other Closed Cell Neoprene type of deadening will help more with the road noise then reg dynomat type deadening. The are other brands tha make it I know partsexpress has it. I just dont remember the names of the other ones.

I just finished doing my car, did trunk, hatch, 2 layers on the front doors and the whole floor. The floor was the worst to do and took me about 8 hours from start to finish. The doors were the most rewarding because the stereo sounds so damn good now, i've got so much mid speaker strength now, sounds fantastic. You cannot hear the stereo from outside the car now and doesnt rattle anywhere!!! Regular cruising is much quieter ( i mean with cruise control on ) but normal accellerating isn't as impressive. You must also take the temperature into consideration as well for best results. Optimum temp is at 25 celcius ( not sure what the conversion is). If the car is too cold then it really doesnt do much, which sucks. Overall well worth doing, just put aside at least 2 days to do the whole job ( I can't leave a job half done )! I used Fatmat btw, purchased 100sq ft and have just enough left to do under the bonnet.
