: 100 DIY Guides by 2007?
SuperGLS 10-17-2006, 09:44 PM So we are at or near 70 Do It Yourself Guides thanks to all of you that have done a mod and been thoughtful enough to take the time to take pictures and follow them up with a write up.
I think we have covered all of the good (well written and good pics) DIY Guides that have been submitted, but I may have missed some here or there. Let me know if you think I have.
Well, I'd like to see if we can make it to 100 DIY Guides by 2007. That doesn't leave us with much time, but let's see if we can get there. So if anyone does something that hasn't already been covered with pics and such, take care of it and I'll take care of getting it into its own page. It can be something as simple as changing the brake pads or changing the oil to something more complicated like shaving the door handles or installing a turbo.
Make it happen. Good luck.
jayupark 10-17-2006, 09:51 PM How about finding a wife?

jayupark 10-17-2006, 09:57 PM Not voiding your warranty DIY?
I guess finding a wife might void your warranty... LOL.
Just playing.
I would guess that it's any DYI... but maybe the ones that do void should be labeled...
Leviathant 10-17-2006, 10:30 PM Most, if not all of the DIYs I've done have been OEM upgrades. If you are worried about your warranty, don't mess with your engine til your warranty runs out. There are plenty of simple modifications you can do that will give you a better ride, and a better looking ride, without risking stupid things that might void that precious warranty.
I'm broke right now, no DIYs for me. My current ride is the R5 SEPTA Train :p
Cypher 10-18-2006, 12:34 AM psh whos needs a warranty

KeWLKaT 10-20-2006, 03:14 PM OK Some positive thinking...
I will do the motor mounts tonight, will add a DIY by tomorrow if all goes like planned.
jayupark 10-20-2006, 03:38 PM Doh, I just put in my catch can yesterday but did not take any pics... :( I know there is one for making it, but not for putting it in.
Maybe I should take it out and put it back in for kicks...
Ah, I should be putting my pulleys in (the whole set, not just the underdriven crank) next week. I'll make sure to take pics of that... you might see me with my "angry eyes" on at times.
fifthgear 10-20-2006, 03:41 PM Felix wants to the Do It Yourself Fellatio. He really rattles his exhaust pipe I tell ya!
Doohickie 10-20-2006, 04:13 PM I wrote all the DIYs in the top section here (http://www.dfwhyundais.com/component/option,com_wrapper/Itemid,32/); you can snag any you don't already have.
Leviathant 10-20-2006, 06:12 PM I'll be hooking up a USB jack in my car before the end of the year, and will document it as I go.
Cypher 10-20-2006, 06:15 PM i'll get drunk and document it!

Doohickie 10-30-2006, 09:34 PM Here's a new DIY for you: Replacement of Speed Sensor on Transmission (http://www.hyundai-forums.com/t13320-repair-of-dtc-p0715-and-p1529-on-2001-elantra-gt.htm). I PM'd the guy who wrote it and he said:
I would have liked to do more for this tutorial, but there are only so many hours in the day. I also saw what was out there and felt obligated to share what I've learned so others can find the info easier.
Feel free to post this around wherever it's appropriate, and if anyone wants to add to it please do. I have larger pics also if necessary, but these should be plenty good.
Link-backs to this post would be appreciated also. I'd like to see if people find it useful. There are other things I want to do to my car in which I may do similar write-ups in the future.
Ok, enough blabbing..
btw: I've been to elantraxd and found it pretty cool (very nice tutorials). Thanks, I'll be checking them out.
