Ok. here is the deal, before I do any modding at all on my car I do something called RESEARCH, I guess that's why my first mod was the tibby sway bar :) mod, Now I have 18' Rims with H&R springs and I can ride with 7 passengers in the card with no rubbing at all (the key seems to be the +45 offset on the rims). I love my car and I want quality products on it.
my next mod is HID's but I have heard of people complaining that when it rains they can't see sh** and the infamous "glare topic". I've being reading here and there on regards to HID, and the HID bulbs (D2S vs. D2R). after several hours of reading different articles found this one (http://www.intellexual.net/hid.html) , it has lots of information that I think is worth sharing with you guys,
Then again this thread is just informational to help you make the best decision at the time of a purchase.

Go spend a few hours (or years as I have) on HIDplanet forums. You too will come to the conclusion that hid capsules in halogen designed headlights are worthless.
First off, because you are going to use halogen headlights you will need to buy a rebased hid capsule. NONE, repeat NONE of the reputable manf. (hella, bosch etc) make these. They are ALL made-in-Taiwan specials. Every single one.
Secondly, by putting a HID capsule in your halogen headlamp the absolute BEST you're gonna get is the exact same beam pattern except with all the "dark" areas filled in. which should be obvious since you're not changing the optics, just the light source. By dark areas I mean the areas that aren’t illuminated because halogen bulbs cant put out enough light, which is why you get glare. There is some purposeful glare designed by manufacturers to illuminate overhead road signs and what not, but because the halogens are so weak (relatively speaking), it’s just enough to help you see but not really enough to blind people. With HID, there is more than enough light to "fill in" all those areas and thus you end up blinding people and then have to lower your headlights and now you're altering the area illuminated even more.
I guess the moral of the story is, retrofit real HID projectors into your headlights or nothing at all. High watt halogen bulbs are a good in-between option, but Hyundai headlamps are all plastic so something is going to melt. Not to mention making a custom harness.
If your beam pattern doesn’t look like this, you're doing it wrong.

EDIT: I went though the thread posted by MonkeyMofothere and using the H7 adapters does allow you to use OEM capsules, but that still doesnt change the fact that your optics are NOT going to help you. they'll just hurt you. Do what DJ_Hellfire did and put in those BMW E46 projectors. Thats the RIGHT way to do it.

Blah blah blah. I haven't had anything melt in the year I've had my HID's and I aimed them perfectly so that there is minimal glare if any and still illuminates the road well.

Stay AWAY FROM HIGH WATTAGE BULBS ...If they dont damage the headlight they will damage the lighting harness
As far as Pointing the headlight and cut off ... This picture cant be used to base output... That cut off is from a projector; You could never achieve a cut off like that from our cars with what hyundia gives...not because its crap but its not a projector hid housing. A picture of a d2r setup would have helped alot more since this is the closest thing that we can get to without spending 300 plus dollars alone on projectors. Many people on here aren't going to be putting almost a 1000 dollars into headlights. However what they do want is good output if they do get hid . Many dont want to bake headlights and drill this and that into the light housing.
Easy ways to get a nice hid retro...yes i said a retro are the following ...
- Use a hid kit with good parts... ask me if you need to what to buy
- Stick with 4300k-6000k MAX lights...anything more than 6k will give you the blue pep-boys look and make for lots of blue light which will not help you to see at night.
- YOU CAN USE THE STOCK REFLECTOR and GLARE SHIELD.... the only problem with our glare sheild is that it wasnt designed for hid...so it lets light out of the bottom which is bad when light should be controlled...which is what needs to happen with hid lighting.
- You can buy drop in add ons from me that will controll that light alot better by not letting it hit the bottom of the reflector so that almost all the glare is gone however you will always have some since you do want to see signs at night.... but nothing that will blind drivers.
- Last make sure you use a aux harness for the hid lighting...Yes if your car did not come with hid you can do damage over time to your lighting harness buy the amp pull of you new hid lights. Yes it may be a short time period that this happens but think how many times you turn your lights on...it adds on and a quick jump of amps over the years could stress you electical system and give you nightmares
