Hi as some of you know i have been trying to create my own body kit, thats why its taking ages and ages. Here's a pic of the front bumper without paint or fitment.....
Please be gentle............
http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/897/bodykitfront1uc5.th.jpg (http://img151.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bodykitfront1uc5.jpg)

Ok the meshing in the middle still requires to be done. This piece can be stuck over the existing bumper and i can hoepfully remove it whenever i want without major damage to the original bumper underneath.........or i can cut it out as well.......

OK PICS OF THE REAR.........

Well its actually not home made sorry!! i own a company that does some work with fiberglass as well, so i said why not try doing some body kits....after a lot of research and some hit and trial methods i managed to get it right............

Well its actually much higher than it looks. The roads over here are pretty bad so i wanted a high ground clearance but with the looks that the body kit hung pretty low!! viola thats the result..........i think you still get a ground clearance of 7 inches......or so...........which is higher than most body kits..

Will you be combining it with the sides you made before (http://www.elantraxd.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17318) or is this a whole new kit?
Btw, liking it!

yeah very nice...all you need is a splitter and your good to go...

like carbon man...i too agree it needs some break up...some slits or something in the bottom...you could even route the air to your breaks through the slits in the bottom.

Direct would probably be better for the customer. If you were going to sell through one of the American companies I'd loo towards MotorImpact/Mussa.

Looks great Beeman, very unique design.
You should definately sell it direct, better profit for you, and a better price for customers.

could you give me an exact measurement from the bottom of the stock bumper to the bottom of the lip cause i like it but like i said i have springtechs so if i dont have at least 2 inches of clearance in the front couldnt and wouldnt do it.

Thanks!! yes that will be my next project.... :D if there is enough time and money left i.e.

could you give me an exact measurement from the bottom of the stock bumper to the bottom of the lip cause i like it but like i said i have springtechs so if i dont have at least 2 inches of clearance in the front couldnt and wouldnt do it.
Well the clearance of mine is more than 6 inches from the bottom part of the bumper to the ground............so i think that is more than enough

:D I LOL'ed.

Thats true...........i will sell it in the US through one of my distributors in california.......Want to sell it reasonably priced and not looking at a high price as i'd rather have that warm feeling of seeing it on other people cars......that would be an achievment for me.

Thanks for the clarification super ! Hope you will put mine on the body kits page as well (when its done obviously)

well i've said it before that i'd be interested in the whole kit, i have springtechs too but will be upgrading to ksport coils so i'd really like to get a hold of your kit before the summer of 07 beeman.

ya looking at my car...it is sitting WAY lower on the springtechs than ur car is with the kit....i have pretty much no clearance in the front i hit everything so there is no way while on the springtechs i will be able to get this kit....even though i want a front lip hella bad.

Well let me get the rear sorted out by next week and post some pics.....and give you some exact dimensions so that you'll know what exactly you are getting into!!!

Dont know how this will be lower?!
Should be higher than your current kit...........at least i thought i made it that way.......plus im sitting on low profile tyres on a 15" so that really lowers your car to some extent.

Dude, really! that is the biggest peice of...

DIY perfection I have ever seen man. You have a good eye for the concept of designing the parts.

If you had more money and time to do some trial and error, I thnik you could have a great second job on your hands. if you can keep the funds flowing, i would keep trying.

well i aint stopping. I am just doing it step by step............slow and steady...

just for an idea, after the body kit, what about fibreglass hoods for sake of lightweight/scoop/intake holes? would ya interested in making those too?
just poped up in my head...

beeman
10-30-2006, 06:32 AM
ya why not..........infact scoops and intake holes are not too much of a process.....its a much easier and universal application........more car models can use the same ones....

Beeman, very impressive work! I think the kit is outstanding yet subtle enough to not be in the "over the top" category.

BTW, did you ever get some pics of the rear on the car?

joph09
11-06-2006, 02:36 AM
I think it's a good idea but it would have too much contrast from black and white so nay but maybe black and silver like this monte carlo might work

ya both good ideas..........the silver seems to be very appealing.........just scared it might not work...............keeping everything black should be the safest ........
but do we really wanna play safe.......
