1. Obtain the mirror you want. There are several sources. You can buy from companies such as http://www.mitocorp.com/nvsmirro.htm (http://) or http://www.simplycheap.com/mobile-electronics-car-audio-accessories-mirrors-rear-view.html (http://) . You can buy off ebay cheaper, but we aware that you don't know what you are getting. You could get ripped off and get a mirror that does not work, or get ripped off like I did, and the seller send you an older mirror different than the one pictured in his ad. Luck was on my side that it was older, but works.
2. If you buy from companies, everything you need is in the package. If you buy from ebay, you may or may not get instructions. I DID NOT get instructions, even though the seller said they were included. Not to panic though, If you don't have instructions, they are available on the Mito website, or at www.the12volt.com or you can call GENTEX directly at the number below.
3. There is 3 wires to hook up. hot that goes to a switched source, ground, and a third wire to the backup lights so that when they come on, it turns the mirror off. (optional on your part)
4. I suggest you go to a auto glass shop, and have them remove the MIRROR from the front windshield. DON'T remove the mounting button for the factory mirror. If you do that you run the risk of breaking the windshield. The Gentex mirror requires you use the GM wedge type mirror mount button which is different from the Hyundai button. Have the shop install the new button directly below the factory button on the window, and attach the mirror.
5. Running the wires. I took off the sunglass holder, and ran the wires under the headliner. I then GENTLY pulled the weatherstipping away from the headliner about 6 inches from the headliner attachment button above the driver door and placed a flat blade screwdriver under the headliner to slightly pull it away from the roof. I then used an electrical fish tape and slid it under the headliner to the sunglass holder, attached the wires to it, and pulled it back out. I then ran the wires under the weatherstip down the pillar post, and under the dash and attached the hot to a switched source such as radio fuse, the ground to a ground, and the backup light wire I did not attach.(Again, optional, the mirror will work if you don't hook it up).
If you have a built in compass on the mirror, follow the instructions on it's calibration, and again if you dont have the instructions they are available on the mito website, on the 12 volt.com website, or you can call Gentex directly . Mr Ron Stevens 1-616-772-1590 extension 671. He was very helpful to me as I got absolutely no instructions about anything even though the seller said that was included.

By the way, the glass shop charged me ten bucks to remove the old mirror, install the GM mount button, and attach the mirror. Can't beat that.

That's a great idea, and functional too! :)
I hope you left the seller negative feedback! Coz he sounds like a con artist.
Good guide.

He said he had the pictured mirror also, and said he would exchange mirrors if I paid shipping for both. That would have been another $40 to do that, (why pay $40 more for the mirror he should have sent me the first time?? Besides, if anyone was to pay shipping, it should have been him.) so I said no, and left negative feedback on him...Here is his ebay name, so I DO NOT recommend buying from him: skydiver981

That is hores%$t that he'd even ask you to pay for the shipping. I'd report him to eBay as well as giving negative feedback.

For those wanting to do this, Nissan has an auto dimming mirror with compass, outside temp, and home link buttons.

The three home link buttons can be used to program in garage door openers, remote gates (if you live in a gated community) or anything else you may use remotes for (such as outside lights).
