I have 2002 GT that is starting to show rust around the marker lights either side of the license plate, spent most of the summer trying to find time to deal with this.
Finally got a day that I could take them out and noticed a seam in the light bucket area that would just love water and salt to sit in it at the bottom of the lights.
So I went at the area with a dremell and took out all the rusted metal primed and painted it. Took me a while to find the colour match paint but thankfully there was a shop in my area that could make that happen.
Anyone else had any problems with this, I know living in an area that uses salt all winter on the roads is half the problem, and that my car is used 95% for highway so the salt really gets a chance to find all the spaces that I can't clean reguarly.
