In planning for nitrous and I have read all i can off the active forums even asked questions and got some good answers. Why are you wasting space with a new thread then ya jerk! Well since my lil elantra is my only mode of transport I have I wanted to find out what parts are most likely to blow out? I plan on installing a transmission cooler way before installing the no2 and have maintained the vehicle IMHO quite well. Since I bought it used there are 30k miles that I don't know what if anything was done to it. They did do the 30k service on it before I bought it but I'm still nervous. If I wanted to check and replace any commonly worn parts for this kind of application(nitrous) what should I check? I'm pretty sure the transmission will survive but I am not sure what internals might need some extra love. I would rather take an extra few months to get the nitro if it reduces the chance of blowing my beloved up. Just looking for some help here I hope I'm not duplicating a thread i didnt see.

I'm thinking
maybe gaskets or something ?

Thanks -MW

Flame Retardant Disclaimer
I know there are inherant risks involved in any forced induction/nitrous modifications. I know and acknowledge that moding my only source of transportation is possibly wreckless and may possibly be used to prove insanity. Further I do realize that even with all the preperations in the world one shot of Nitrous could result in my car being replaced with a giant fireball. Lastly I do understand that all modifications even simple ones should only be done if you can still get to work if you screw up aka alternative transportation

I run a 70 shot on a completely stock fuel system. But you can do serious damage to the internals if you use too high of a shot, have low or high bottle pressure and so on

I am thinking remote bottle opener for the bottle in the trunk along with this bottle pressure controller I saw in Jegs its like 349 so probably wont get it right away it will automatically cooldown or heat up the bottle to keep it in predesignated pressure ranges I thought it was pretty cool. I am going to buy a blanket for the meantime.
Thanks for the headsup what kind of internal damage heads piston rings a manifold? Im not going to shoot a rod through the stock block am i?

Theres always a possibility, but unlikely if done correctly.Use a wetshot kit and you should be good to go.Piston damage is most likely goin to be #1 thing to watch for on our engines.
