ok so my intake is apart and i know the SRI im attempting to install doesnt have a place to plug the sensor (i think?) that was on top of the previous intake.. i am assuming this is important and will cause my CEL to be on, so am i correct? and what the hell should i do if i need to put it in? after the tubing i might be able to fit it in between the tube and the cone filter but would that work? i know this would be better with pics but i really need a quick answer.. thanks in advance

That sensor is your MAF. It's extremly vital to your engine. It needs to be in the same location (distance from t/b) as it is on the stock tubing. To prevent the whistling noise, use your stock elbow and then attach the filter on the other side of the MAF sensor.

EDIT
well i took too long typing and one of the said people replied yay! I wasn't totally wrong

I dunno but I'll bump the hell outta this thread I have been reading the forums and searching and stuff. With an 05 you have a maf sensor I think thats the sensor on the intake the other thing going on is the pcv hose if I remember correctly you dont have to hook that one up but you should put a filter off the end of it. Im sure the more knowledgable(sp?) people will post up but those are my ideas
maf or pcv maf =cel pcv= buy a filter no biggie

That's what I did, I kept the stock elbow so I could attach the CAI to that. Like so:

Well, technically that could be considered a SRI. But you get the picture.
