so yeah, on an 05 gls, one of windshield washer suddenly crapped out. really strange. the other one still squirts, but the "bad" one just barely dribbles. doesn't really make sense to me. if the pump died, then both wouldn't work. if the hose to the bad washer was disconnected somehow, I should find all kinds of washer fluid under the hood and it would prolly make the other washer not function (path of least resistance), but thats not the case.

so whatdda'ya think?

is this something I can take back to the dealer to cover under warranty (ie. no cost to me. giving money to dealerships is against my religion)?

dealership fixed my washer nozzles/lines at 59xxx miles when i went in for a bunch of little issues. they said there was something clogged in the lines or something

its between the 2 bumpers, and its not wear and tear, they have to fix it before 60k miles

Take a toothbrush or other stiff nylon-brush and clean the nozzle area. Sometimes they get clogged up with crap that keeps them from spraying. It doesn't have to be a complete clog to stop it, just enough that the easiest route for the liquid to go is out the other nozzle.

EDIT:

Also, the hose connecting the two nozzles is run through the hood, it's easy to see if you open up the hood and look up there. You can investigate if something came loose under there. Like you said, if one nozzle is squirting, there's nothing wrong with the pump / feeder line.

I had to flush out my XD's washer tank several times a year because the pump pickup was clogged with sediment. Take a hose, stick it in the tank and run it full blast for a minute.

It's probably a plugged line, but what do you care? Take it to the dealer; you gotta still be under warranty.
