nice. I'd def be interested after the r&d is done, ain't no way i'm gonna swap a manifold in canadian winter in my non-heated garage
While I'm glad someone is thinking of the I-4 crowd this R&D process seems pretty lame. He's selling $35 raffle tickets to fund the R&D and you get nothing other than a 1 in X chance of getting a free manifold for your contribution to the development of the manifold. Boostology should at least offer the manifold to the investors at a discounted price IMO.

discount or no money but noway im spending money on a product that isn't even shown to work or a time frame to which it will be done. Man, if he wants money he needs a working unit first then sell his units to make profit.

Well guys all I can say on the subject is...
I'm sick of having very little options being a i4, I'm sick of the lack (none) of true r&d for the i4, if I have to fork out $35 to get some **** done... then I will... simply put...
I could care less if I win the raffle, I just want some good stuff to be developed for the 4cyls, I'm tired of being left out in the US on good products...
And that's why I'm pushing this, because I'm sick and tired of being left out on stuff for my engine...

^^
exactly. every town has metal shops, manifolds are very easy to have made.

Very easy to make, yes, but will it be more efficient then the OEM one, possibly. There IS alot of money that goes into making a aftermarket part, but I do not condon making people pay for R&D, and then raffling off one intake manifold. I doubt people would be able to get anyone local to make one for well under 600 bucks, depending on materials, man hours, etc.

That's totally not true. Anyone can make their own IM. As long as you've got a intake manifold gasket and a throttle body gasket. and you can measure your stock IM to figgure out the correct distace and relation between the 2 your good to go. It would help to have a template that shows u exactly how the ports on the head match up with the hump etc. Most people have acess to at least a mig welder... and the metal itself is NOT expensive. even if you had a shop do it......600 bux is roughly what you would have paid for an old school air ram anyways.
If RIPP is behind this, the setup of the R&D is now even more lame IMO. RIPP should have enough funds to finance their own development.
