Got them yesterday. Will be doing the install on Sunday at my buddy's garage

Question for anyone who has these:
Whats is the recommended amount of torque for the nuts? I don't want to torque it down so much that the phenolic spacer cracks.

Rockauto.com >* for price and speed of shipment. My replacement gaskets came ahead of schedule and at a convenient time.

Attn: Carbonman-Nice work on the manifolds...thye look great...sunday I'll tell you if they feel it too.... :D

like 19-25 lb/ft on the nuts...basically hand tight and a nice snug past that. w/ the spacer, you will only be able to get 2-3 turns of the nut on, so use some locktite and make sure to replace the support bars on the back.

um, why did you delete my post? i dont think there was anything wrong in me saying that possibly he and his friend each got a manifold. he obviously used manifolds in a plural form multiple times, and im sure jared has a pretty good idea what he is talking about to not mess up "manifold" more than once

Lol...I just have a bad habit of calling them manifolds instead of just a manifold.

Sunday morning they're going in!

Yup. Good things come to those who wait. Tomorrow morning they go in. After that...the sky is the limit as far as mods go...I got an idea up my sleeve though...

I'm hoping someone can help me out. I'm looking for an airram intake manifold for the Beta 1 2.0L like the one on Kspec except that they are out and they don't know if they will get anymore. Is there another web site that sells these or at least something better then the stock manifold?

No one else makes a intake manifold for us. Airrams are no longer made.

Carbonman runs a business called compact divisions that does porting of the intake manifold. He does a pretty good job of it, that who did the port job on mine.

Got them in without a hitch, even did the TB coolant bypass in the process. I like the extra power, and the throttle response is improved. We had no real problems, although we had a couple of fire extnguishers sitting there just in case.

Next mods:Underdrive pulley will be going in soon, and LED footwell lighting will be installed this week I hope. After that...???

why the fire extinguishers?

And how is this not the same thing?

why the fire extinguishers?

Basic safety precaution. My friend has a nice garage, and he wants to make sure NOTHING endangers its safety. He has one that he usually keeps on a bracket by the door and I have another thats getting mounted in my trunk soon.

good call on the trunk thing. i see a lot of people think its a great idea to put it up on the passenger side a-pillar, not thinking what will happen in an accident, wether it comes off the pillar or if it stays and someone slams their head into it

another option is on the pass side floor by the center console. easier to access if your trunk for some reason is not able to be accessed

That could work too. I was originally going to get a little bit of plywood and build a small box for in the passenger side corner, to hold some tools, some extra gloves (winter and working) some small necessities and with a bracket for the extinguisher.

do you have any ideas in mind for how to mount it in the passenger seatwell? Tastefully and in keeping with the car. Anyone can zip tie it there or use bungee cords...I want it to look like it belongs.

p.s. Mods, if you see this and get a chance, can you move the extinguisher related posts to a new topic titled in car fire extinguisher, or something of the like?

see if you can find some sort of quick release rings, somewhat similar to how you would secure a nitrous bottle, but something with a clasp like you would find on maybe a cheap kiddie suitcase or (if you know what im talking about) a springform pan like you make cheesecake in

alot of small extinguishers come with mounting brackets you could use. check out places like flyingJ and larger auto places.
