Hey I've been researching the zex wet kit 82021 on and off this forum and cant find a good solid review. I havent heard or read any bad reports about the zex wet kit but google searches only turn up sites that are either selling the kit or are forums suggesting the kit.
Its unanimous(i cant spell) the zex wet kit is one of the easiest to install and best bang for its buck Nitrous Oxide kits. What seems to be missing from all the posts / web sites i have found are solid numbers. I am trying to find out what people were hitting before and after dynos, Time Slips with and without the juice, what supporting mods work the best.
So if you are one of the fortunate people that have been able to obtain and install the Zex Wet Kit Part#82021 would you be so kind to post your own review of the kit including what kind of power gains you saw and how your track times improved.
I've searched my azz off and am breaking down to make a new thread in this busy forum so any help is awesome. the best info so i've found so far is that most people are shaving 1.25-2.0 seconds off their 1/4 mile
Thanks everyone

go to my member profile. i have dyno runs as well as 1/4 mile times. also in the zex install DIY there is a mod list of needed things. fordfasterr also posted up a jet chart for our cars. the other jet charts out there are WRONG!!! our cars run a bit rich, so he dropped the fuel jet size for better running performance.
zex is by far the BEST way to go. never had any issues with it running, EVER!!!
and best ever 1/4 mile was 15.1 on spray. i have an auto, 190 lph fuel pump, 1* colder plugs, trans cooler, 18" wheels, coilovers, tcs off, 350+lbs of STEREO weight in the trunk, 2.5" fully gutted exhaust from stock header back.i do a 17.x 1/4 mile stock. i also have the autotragic 3800 rpm hesitation and it DOES NOT go away!!.
dyno pulls-- 120whp and 118wtq on motor. 156whp and 167 wtq on spray

yeah i sure do, i do not currently have a dyno run or 1/4 mile time. but my car is lighter than 2louds and i dont have 18's..although i have an automatic too. additional mods that compliment the nitrous system wonderfully, is my cold air intake, and my full racing exhaust with a 4-1 header and no cats..wich allows the engine to breath a nice big deep breath when i hit the switch..i now have jets in for an 80 shot..my car has 107k miles on it and it takes it like a pro, i dont use it every day though,i maybe spray like once a week.. i laso have a 65mm throttle body that helps with initial launches..you know the new vw gti?? well i beat one and it was a stick..i didnt "kill it" but i was about 1/2 a car length ahead..but my car runs super rich due to a check engine light, i literally get like 13 mpg in the city..so i can afford to have bigger jets without buying extra fuel upgrades.
but realistically, the bottle lasts about 2 minutes if you were to floor it all the way until it reaches like 450psi..once you hit that low of pressure the rest is just a waste, because the nozzle is also dumping fuel in there so it ends up getting flooded after that and will die on you.(it has happened to me) wich sucks because you had to pay for that.
so in order so conserve all the nitrous you buy i would buy a bottle opener if its in the trunk and a heater..i have an opener but no heater yet, your bottle has to be at 900 psi for best results, you can go up to 1000 if you want but dont spray above that. make sure if you buy an opener get the one for your kit, dont buy nitrous express because it doesnt fit 100% perfect. and now that its winter i need a heater to get proper bottle pressure...a 10lb bottle of n20 for me costs about 35 bucks, and the shop is only 15 min away so that is another reason i chose nitrous and not turbo or super...with my stock 15 wheels on i can roast the tires pretty good for an auto....
i fill up about once every 2 months, but i am extremely conservative...wich trust me the first time you install it it will all be gone in the first day
pros, you get tons of torque and cheap power
cons, it sucks you cant use it all the time, and if you dont buy a bottle heater its a pain in the arse having to rely on warm days to keep your pressure up.
its definelty priceless seeing the look on guys faces when they see and econobox like ours speed ahead...especially whne they are those cocky, always in a hurry SUV drivers that think they own the road...well have fun

Thats ****in awesome. Talking about pressure what kind of gauges are recommended? I found some cheap as hell on ebay but then name brands are significantly more expensive im talking from 15 or less on ebay to 60-100+ for name brands? Any sites to recommend looking for a used kit besides ebay?

i have a pro comp ultra lite pressure guage, im not sure on the price because i bought it from 2loud..i also have an air fuel guage wich you can pick up at autozone or whatever parts store is around. well the only other site good for used systems is this one, and ebay..other than that, thats about it...im sure you dont have to have a name brand pressure guage..just buy a cheap one and it will do the job.

i am too, its probably the hassle of filling up bottles and having to worry about when its right to floor it. And of course the nitrous will only activate at wide opne throttle anyway.
I have a Nitrous Express wet kit that I had installed on my 05 xd2 and my 06 tib that is possibly up for sale ;)
Daddy needs a intercooler and whatnot :)
Very nice kit, comes with the jets, all the solenoids, wiring, lines, purge valve, bottle pressure gauge, instruction manual. All you will need is the fuel rail adapter.I'd sell you mine but im goin to use it to convert my fuel system to return style

Thanks you guys a cheaper setup would be mucho welcomed. How hard of an install are other manufacturer's kits? The zex kits attractive to me because i havent done anything like this before and it appears pretty bullet proof if a NOS or other brand name kit is significantly less I'm willing to try it out but I just gotta be sure I dont blow up my solo mode of transportation :-D

FYI--- do not inform the shippers that you are shipping a nitrous kit. you will have alot of probs with the epa if you do. they will require you to have it professionally cleaned out (all the remaining nitrous residue) ans you cant ship the bottle w/any nitrous inside.
