I'm not sure if there is a thread already posted about this, but I searched and couldn't find anything too helpful. Anyway, I took my car to Firestone to make an appointment to replace all 3 drivebelts (I'm at about 60k, and they're squeling). Problem is, they want $175 for parts and labor, which is about the same as everyone else around here. They want about $30 each for the belts, and I went to Checker and bought the belts for $15-20 each. $51 total. I've been told it's not too hard to replace them yourself, and I'd certainly like to so I can save $100+, and have the skills. Can anyone give me step by step instructions, or point me to where I can get the help?
Thanks.

we have a DIY section of the forums, and a search for belts would have yielded you this (http://www.elantraxd.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15290&highlight=belts+DIY)
for some reason though, even though they are trying to hit 100 diy's by 07, they haven't added this one...oh well

Manual for my Y2K calls for the timing belt @ 60K as well.

Ahhhh. I don't like the sound of that. The timing belt is expensive isn't it?

but if you dont know exactly what you're doing, you could really mess something up. belt is cheap. labor should be about 350-450$
